Collection of Gregg's lyrics

I'm cross-posting this here since Gregg's section seems temporarily abandoned...
Every time I read about Gregg I see great things about his singing. But I don't think I've ever seen anybody write about how fantastic his lyrics are. From the first LP and on, his poetry is tight, concise, and full of great imagery.
Has anyone ever collected them in book form? I'm not in a position to volunteer to do this, but maybe someone with the right contacts could launch this.
Billastro

Honestly, I don't think the demand would be that great. The ABB isn't really known for their lyrics. Gregg has a legendary voice, but I agree that his lyrics are often overlooked.
I would buy it, but it isn't like he has the volume of songs like a Dylan, Springsteen or even the Dead who all have their own lyric books. In the big picture of a 50 year career, Gregg hasn't written a whole lot of songs compared to many of his peers.
The book would start slowing down greatly after the first 5 years or so.

Great idea, but Gregg has not wrote and released a lot of his own music in a long time. The Guy sure can sing though.

Now that would be a pretty small book. Especially considering that most of his lyrics repeat throughout his songs. Add the fact that his output since 71 is minimal at best, it would be one chapter of a book unless you made it a picture book with some lyrics. Under 30 songs and only one written alone since 79. Many of the songs also just repeat verses. More like a single chapter than an actual book. Never understood how some people still expect Gregg to write songs. Without Warren pushing him, his output since 78 is one song.
Taking out repetition reduces some songs to two verses and a chorus. Just write them here and then print it and staple the sheets together.
Whipping Post
I've been run down and I've been lied to.
And I don't know why, I let that mean woman make me a fool.
She took all my money, wrecks my new car.
Now she's with one of my good time buddies,
They're drinkin in some cross-town bar.
Sometimes I feel, sometimes I feel,
Like I been tied to the whippin' post.
Tied to the whippin' post, tied to the whippin' post.
Good Lord, I feel like I'm dyin'.
My friends tell me, that I've been such a fool.
But I had to stand by and take it baby, all for lovin' you.
Drown myself in sorrow as I look at what you've done.
But nothing seemed to change, the bad times stayed the same,
And I can't run.
Midnight Rider
Well, I've got to run to keep from hiding,
And I'm bound to keep on riding.
And I've got one more silver dollar,
But I'm not gonna let them catch me, no,
Not gonna let 'em catch the Midnight Rider.
And I don't own the clothes I'm wearing,
And the road goes on forever,
And I've got one more silver dollar,
But I'm not gonna let them catch me, no
Not gonna let 'em catch the Midnight Rider.
And I've gone by the point of caring,
Some old bed I'll soon be sharing,
And I've got one more silver dollar
Dreams
Just one more mornin, I had to wake up with the blues.
Pulled myself out of bed, yeah, put on my walkin shoes.
And went up on the mountain, to see what I could see.
The whole world was fallin, right down in front of me.
'Cause I've a hunger for the dreams I'll never see, yeah, baby.
Ah, help me baby, or, or this will surely be the end of me, yeah.
Pull myself together, put on a new face.
Climb down off the hilltop, baby, get back in the race.

'Cause I've a hunger for the dreams I'll never see, yeah, baby.
Ah, help me baby, or, or this will surely be the end of me, yeah.
Isn't it "I'm hung up on dreams..."
