A 1939 live recording of Chick Webb King of the Drums with Moon ( The Arm) Mullins walking that upright bass 120 mph. Great Trumpet and Trombone solos in the middle.

Chick was a dwarf born with a spinal deformity and was very short. It was an all African American band and that is the only reason they were not as well known as Goodman, Dorsey etc. Chick said ALL of his players were 5 star players and never miss a note.

I knew a trumpet player who lived in New York in the 1930's and played my VHS tape of Led Zeppelin live Song Remains the Same and asked what he thought of John Bonham. He said Chick Webb could play circles around that boy!!!
