Chicago 1/31/70

Just listening to this new `grey area' CD out of the UK. I thought there was a thread
on it but I couldn't find one. Decent sound for such an old recording. One question,
however - Duane (maybe) mentions that a song is from `IDLEWILD SOUTH' but that
album wouldn't be released for several months.....right? Is the date of 1/31/70 correct?

There was a consensus that this show is definitely mislabeled and is from 1971. I can't remember the correct date.

It has to be from a much later date. Hopefully someone can let us know the correct date.

It's yet another version of A&R Studios show from 1971. Poorly mislabeled.

Listening to it now, you are correct. It is just a much lower quality version of what was just released without all of the tracks included.

Are you sure?! I've got three copies of the A&R studio set and I swear I've
never heard this one before.....

Listen to the talk between songs on both the "1/31/70" release and A&R, specifically before "Don't Keep Me Wonderin'". It is the exact same dialog.
Idlewild South wouldn't be released for another 8 months and likely not even titled as of January 1970, yet it is mentioned by name in the intro as if the crowd knew what Idlewild South was at the time.

It is a bogus bootleg ... end of ... extracted from A&R as Roger said above ...
