Celebrating Gregg's 75th

A sad day. My wife and I have been playing Gregg' solo material for a few days in remembrance.

Gregg said not long before he passed on that the Allman Brothers was his brother's band. That his solo career was Gregg as the only chef in the kitchen and Laid Back was his favorite baby. Real proud of Laid Back.

He said something similar right after the Gregg Allman Tour was released. In an interview he said he was proud of that album just like a daddy is of a "Big fat baby boy!". The Gregg Allman Tour doesn't have a bad track on it. Neither does Laid Back.

@kcjimmy You are very right. Both albums are excellent.
I like how Bill Stewart and Jaimoe sound together on the Gregg Allman Tour. Chuck Leavell adds so much to both albums.
And good slide guitar from Tommy Talton.
I still remember noticing when I saw the tour in 1974 that Tommy used a chrome metal slide. Duane and Dickey were always glass as best I remember.
Randall Bramblett is on both albums too. Here are Randall and Tommy Talton on slide performing Dreams!

@robertdee Randall's sax solo on Dreams from The Gregg Allman Tour REALLY suits that version of the song along with Chuck's piano fills. One of my favorite records to be sure.
