Celebrate The Life Of Duane Allman And The Muscle Shoals Sound 11/20/19 @The Brooklyn Bowl

This should be a great night of music performed by some great musicians. A great line-up has been assembled for this. I just saw Paste Studio had Scott and Tash in for a sampler.

Yes Duane Allman is the reason so many musicians became successful and we are here. What if he had said after the Muscle Shoals demo with Berry and Jaimoe ( and Jaimoe had no recording experience and had some difficulty so Johnny Sandlin took over)..what if Duane did what he did and decided the trio didn't cut it but rather than adding 3 more players decided to join some other band or become a truck driver. A lot of musicians and fans would be into something else and many of those musicians may have never become successful.

See you there Mr. Frets!

Great way to celebrate Duane - by celebrating Muscle Shoals at the same time - Vernon Reid, Duane Betts, Junior Mack, Robert Randolph, of course Scott S - very very cool
The Brothers were in Boston on Duane’s 24th birthday for Nov 19-20 shows at the Tea Party - that’s also where they played a very early (their 1st?) road gig, opening for Velvet Underground in May 1969
But the Dead was also in town in Nov 1970, & that’s when they (Duane, Bobby, Jerry, others) did that 11/21/1970 radio interview on WBCN
Finally, Elton John just a few days earlier had recorded his show at A&R Studios which became his breakthrough 11/17/70 live release - I dig those early Elton records, esp Tumbleweed Connection - Duane mentions Elton in a radio interview, maybe the WPLO one
Elton, the Dead, Fleetwood Mac, Pink Floyd, Steve Miller, Rod Stewart - their early stuff is all so different from what came later
Ups to all for this fine looking tribute show tmrw nite

See you there Mr. Frets!
I'm looking forward to it Sir, I'll make sure to see you.

I am also attending this show largely to see Randolph, Reid, amd Betts perform. I have seen Sharrod do a couple of similar gigs in Florida and was left underwhelmed. Nothing stands out about him.

I love Mr. Sharrard. Class act and world class player. Gregg Allman has played with the best of the best of musicians.
The best defense to your comment would be to point out the love that Mr. Allman had for Mr. Sharrard.
In numerous interviews and on many a stage Scott Sharrard was his guy. when he had the literal pick of the litter, This was the cat he chose. I rest my case.
Here's some clips.

Scott is the man, Gregg’s later CD’s, also the All My Friends show, wouldn’t be the tremendous releases they are w/out him on hand - thanks for the links, enjoy the show! - hearing those musicians honor Duane w/that Muscle Shoals stuff should be upper-most
