Cars & America '79

While watching a DB Handpicked (audio) video on youtube I laughed as I saw a recommended video of a show I saw in Central Park '79. I saw 2 shows there that summer America and the Cars. While I couldn't find the exact Central Park show by the Cars, there was a show from '79 by an old cool show Rock Goes To College. It brought back memories.

Thanks for sharing. Love the America video/movie. Particularly the first 5 minutes. It bring you back to another time for sure. I was 10 at the time with great childhood memories of then and it brings back those feelings. I'm going to watch that on the stereo / TV set up when I have some time. Forgot they were that good (I saw them once in Piedmont Park in the mid 90s and enjoyed them live).
And Cars one is interesting. I would have rather seen them early in their career than 6-7 years later when they might as well have had 2 keyboardist and no guitarist by then. Their first album is better than their greatest hits album.

America - has had staying power for many many years. Very talented, great songwriters, and fine vocals. Have made a living of songs with major 7th chords.

The Cars first album came out in 1978 and Candy-O in 1979. The show is from 79, hardly late in their career.
