Capricorn Records, birthplace of southern rock, is resurrected
Capricorn Records is known as the birthplace of southern rock.
The studio, where the Allman Brothers, Joe Cocker, and Lynyrd Skynyrd all recorded, was once forgotten.
Now, it's opening its doors again.
Dana Jacobson visited the resurrected studio in Macon, Georgia.

That was really cool, just watched it, thanks for posting.
How cool that some people in Macon thought that Capricorn was worth saving and it's alive again!

I was lucky enough to take a stroll through there when I was in Macon in Jan for the TTB show. They did such a great job resurrecting it, the museum is wonderful. I even got to play Otis Redding's upright piano. I hope everyone gets a chance to check it out.

Watched this earlier todayin work on youtube via Twitter. A really intereresting piece of film. Chuck was beaming throughout.

Great to see a piece like this on a major network, recognizing and honoring the important legacy to music that is Capricorn Studios.
I took my 16 year old son on a pilgrimage to Macon back in February and we had a wonderful experience there including being given a personal tour of the studio by one of the staff who indulged all my questions. It truly felt like being on sacred ground...
