Anyone know what we can expect from this? Heavy doses of ABB?

Way cool, thanks for sharing -- hopefully a heavy dose of the Tractor -- young Berry I believe, has either it or the replica -- he sat in w/it in Oct. 89 w/ABB at Orpheum -- Vaylor T's in it too

Hopefully a lot of love for his dad too -- mayb a real tribute to BO in store type of nite -- can only rock -- they're doin it for the love Cool

I saw Butch's band at Wanee, it was very heavy on ABB material. Here's the setlist:

Disc 1:
1. Introduction
2. Hot 'Lanta
3. Midnight Rider
4. Every Hungry Woman
5. Dreams
6. Please Call Home
7. Trouble No More

Disc 2:
1. In Memory of Elizabeth Reed
2. 3/4 Up-Tempo Shuffle
3. Whipping Post

It was a lot of fun, Lamar Williams, jr., sang, Vaylor Trucks and Scrapomatic's Dave Yoke on guitar, plus Oteil and Marc doing their thing. I imagine it will be much the same.

It's got to be hard for Butch, not having that outlet right now while Gregg and Jaimoe both have their bands. It reminds me of Levon Helm in The Last Waltz, who was himself obviously not on board with Robertson's decision to stop touring and hang up his rock 'n roll shoes (and make a movie), saying something to the effect of, "I'm just the drummer, I can't really go out on stage without everyone else." Maybe we'll see more from Butch. I wonder if there will be more tour dates - Huntington, Long Island, seems like an odd one off place for a show.

I enjoyed the wanee show on youtube, this version of the band for the huntington show seems to be short 1 guitarist and no mention of Lamar Williams Jr on vocals.

"The front page here on Hittin the Web states: Butch Trucks has put together a new band and they are lining up gigs now! Butch Trucks and the Freight Train Band features Butch on drums and Berry Oakley, Jr. on bass. As most of you know, Berry was the original bass player in the Allman Brothers Band, so after 40 years, we have Oakley and Trucks together again!"

Honest mistake there. I think they mean, "as most of you know, Berry's father was the original bass player in the Allman Brothers Band."

It reads as if Butch is hooking up with the original bassist for the ABB.
