I was reading last night once Buddy Merrill was late for rehearsal and brother Lawrence Welk inquired as to what is his excuse?

Buddy Merrill said " Mr. Lawrence I was simply late. I don't have an excuse".

To which brother Lawrence Welk said " That's no excuse!!"

"Tank ya, tank ya!  "And now the lovely Lennon Sisters are gonna sing, "I Can't Get No Satisfaction!""

 - Robin Williams channeling Lawrence Welk

That was some awesome playing by Buddy, but I didn't know Lawrence Welk could dance like that!

My local PBS station stopped carrying the Lawrence Welk Show on Saturday nights a few years ago. I remember seeing the Mills Brothers on one episode and it must have been an old one, because it was in black and white and had the old Geritol sign hanging. Anyway, after that a couple friends of mine and myself would wait for them to show that episode again and wound up retitling the show to Waiting For The Mills Brothers after that 😄

Was funny, maybe you had to be there

@jack_frost I remember the Mills Brothers. Very smooth and tight vocal group. Dean Martin said their smooth nonchalant style was his biggest influence as a singer.

Here is a little slice of tasty blues. Not sure who this is other than " Telecaster Blaster"

And if you love the Telecaster sound from time to time as I do and Susan Tedeshi does along with many Nashville pickers this version of the Junior Walker song Hot Cha is very nice.
