Boz Scaggs' San Francisco Club "Slim's" to Close for Good

What a bummer for Bay area music freaks. Last show I saw there was Dickey Betts and Great Southern............that had to have been 8 years ago. Dickey was ON that night.........
Didn't go there a lot but the late saxophonist Michael Brecker, Mike Stern (twice) and The Ford Blues Band (several times) were special nights. Only a 600 seat capacity room, great sight lines, great atmosphere. Hoping someone else will revive it under a different name. Thanks for the 30 year run Boz.

Didn't know Boz owned a club. Interesting. I find something else interesting about that article. The decision to close was made late last year and staff was informed on March 18th of this year.
While people in the service & entertainment industries are indeed going to not be working for a while, I think that if true, it is really crappy to have known you were going to close for months and not tell your staff. The same thing happened to a few people I know here in Chicago. They got a three day notice that the bar was closing where they worked. I know the owner and he already had someone signed on to take over his lease.
On the one hand, I can understand an owner keeping his/her mouth shut because as soon as something was said, the staff would be looking for other employment but it still seems like a poor decision.
