Boz Scaggs chats about the recording of "Loan me a dime"

Holy Cow! Another take? How can this not be released? Has anybody heard it?

There is a much shorter acoustic (as I recall) version that has floated around in bootleg land.
"Is that a real poncho or is that a Sears poncho?"

As interesting perhaps is a comment from Jann Wenner (rolling stone publisher) and the album's producer saying that there was a 40 minute version of the song. Purely my speculation, but the album track fades down as Duane is ripping his solo, the released version is probably the version that went for the forty minutes but was faded down. 40 minute versions didn't make commercial releases back then (unless it was the ABB, The G Dead or Quicksilver Messenger Service). Or, perhaps Wenner was off on the time as Boz says 17 to 18. The released version was just short of 13.
Boz talking about LMAD, "because it went on and on"

This is kind of ironic for me. I was in a place on Saturday, and Loan Me A Dime came on. My friend knew it was Boz Skaggs, but he didn't know Duane was on it. And this guy knows his music. I told him to just listen carefully. I hope he gets Duane.
Everything in Moderation. Including Moderation.

It's been said in multiple interviews that there's a 40 minute version, and it's also been stated that the long version isn't around for release.
With the intense interest over the years of fans and music industry folk, but no bootleg out there, I doubt it exists. Bummer, tho.
