One of the last great Outlaws in old school country rock and roll. A wonderful story teller who's had a hard life at times and relayed them in musical offerings. From balls out rockers to loving ballads he's given us many a gift in song. I loved the Eddy Era. Eddy is Billy Joe's son who sadly passed a few years back, he gave the songs a rocking spirit through his guitar riffs and rhythms. He was a major talent with his country honk and powerful stringwork. A great night of music by the American Legend. I love his feel and delivery, He's a unique Old Timer. If you've never blessed yourself with his presence, Please do so, I think you'll dig it.

Here's Billy Joe's Official Website that includes tour dates and info, See this man

IMHO...one of the two greatest songwriters in history, the other being Dylan. Thanks so much for posting!

Billy Joe has a new disc out called Long In The Tooth. It's a nice disc. I bought that and a disc called Jewels which focuses on Billy's 7 year window and 5 CD's with his son Eddy from '93-'00, It seems to have some alternate takes. It's a great disc also. Here's an info link ( http://www.newwestrecords.com/releases/shavers-jewels-best-shaver)
I would strongly recommend his 2 live CD's, Live At The Bluebird (acoustic) & Live At Ol' Smith's Bar (electric). Both are great pieces showcasing the heart & skills of the Father/Son duo. Of his studio stuff Tramp On Your Street and Electric Shaver are good offerings. I'm on a Shaver kick and have been playing 'em all. Just throwing the info hit out there for those that might be interested.
He's got a couple dates left down around Texas, not many though, Here's a link. http://www.bandsintown.com/BillyJoeShaver

In closing here's a couple BJS clips with Eddy. I loved his playing and miss the man. RIP Sir.

Georgia On A Fast Train (ACL '84)

I'm Just An Old Chunk Of Coal (Farm Aid '94)

You Just Can't Beat Jesus Christ('' ")

Sweet Mama (Farm Aid '86)

Willie, Kris, Waylon, Billie Joe, Eddy, & Others.....

I hope you find something to your liking in there. I did.

Man, Eddy sure could scorch it! Hate that he isn't with us anymore.
