Myself and two others are trying to purchase tickets for the Allman's Big House Museum but are all failing due to the site saying it is unsafe to proceed to payment. We are travelling to Macon from Atlanta next Saturday morning on the Greyhound bus and hope to visit the museum whilst we are there. Unfortunately we have very limited time in Macon due to needing to be back in Atlanta for the Umphrey's McGee show later that evening. Will we be fine to turn up at the museum and pay on the day ? Also are there any other recommendations, other than Rose Hill cemetery, that we ought to check out in our brief 3 hour stay ?

Cheers.

I went to the museum in October with a couple of friends. We just paid as we went through the door.

The museum is great. It is too bad you are so short on time, we stayed there for over two hours.

My family of 5 showed up without tix on a weekend in late Summer a couple years ago and practically had the whole place to ourselves.

You don't need to have pre-purchased tickets to get into The Big House. You can pay at the door 😉

They have a "Footsteps Map" of all of the ABB related sites in Macon at the front desk. Be sure to ask for a few and the. You can decide what sites you want to see.

I'm not sure if the Otis Redding Memorial Statue is on the map, however it is worth seeing 😋

The gift shop at the museum is loaded with some nice items. Bring a few bucks for that !

Enjoy the trip.....🖖
