Band/s do you hope records another studio album?

My choices
1. Bad company
2.The Rolling stones
3.Guns N Roses
4. Blue oyster Cult
5.Dickey Betts

Great topic, but boy, it comes with a huge “if” for me. Most of the bands I love that might be in doubt of recording another album have such GREAT catalogues that I’d just about rather they NOT put out another album unless it is amazing.
Some of that is just me though. Maybe I can’t always roll with a band’s changes. I live Rush and always respected that they would keep putting out new stuff and growing and changing. Their tours would focus on new stuff, not just greatest hits. However .... I’ll afmit that I did not always dig each new release, and now I rarely put on much that they did in the past ...25 years?
I can’t see them or The Who or Stones rising to the heights I would want. Page / Plant couldn’t quite lift the hammer of the gods anymore. I’d love to be proven wrong though.
Fantasy list:
- Genesis getting back with Steve Hackett and putting out a real prog album.
- Ritchie Blackmore doing a good guitar heavy Rainbow album along the lines of Dio era not Joe Lynn Turner era.
- Rod Stewart and Jeff Beck, or Rod & Ronnie doing a Faces thing. Something that gets Rod to actually rock.
- Mick Taylor with the Stones or Mayall.
- The Replacements doing a brash rock album.
- The James Gang pushing Joe Walsh to rock.

Rage. Or at least perform again.

Great topic. Guns n Roses, Van Halen (with Mike Anthony, and since we have talked of em lately, Dead and Co.

Hot Tuna
Robin Trower
X
Burning Spear
Moby Grape
Stones
Tull (really wish Ian would do an acoustic solo record and tour)
Moody Blues
Meat Puppets
Yes w Jon Anderson
afterthought: An Eric Clapton with Derek Trucks record could prove quite interesting. Maybe in a Dominos direction.

Sadly, all the band members are no longer with us, but if they were, I would have loved to see a reunion of the original Humble Pie lineup do some fresh stuff. Pete and Steve trading guitar licks and vocals again. Such a dream....

Lucero
Drive By Truckers
Blue Mountain
Derek Trucks Band
Uncle Tupelo

I would also add Ozzy with Zack wylde.

- Ritchie Blackmore doing a good guitar heavy Rainbow album along the lines of Dio era not Joe Lynn Turner era.

Good picks.
The first three James Gangs are some of my favorites.
Rod and Ronnie doing an ala Faces "rock" record is long overdue.
I would not be to surprised if Ritchie puts out more material under the "Rainbow" name.
I think he would need a lineup change beside Ronnie Romero.
Hopefully Jimmy Page will put something out, but I have given up hope on that one for quite awhile now.
Another VH with Dave maybe.
Mellencamp puts material out on a consistent basis , but maybe just him and some acoustic guitars.
This is kinda off topic, but Phil Moog is calling it quits next year. UFO is going to tour . I would like to see maybe a show or two with the classic lineup of Phil,Schenker,Way,Raymond and Andy Parker. Maybe Paul Chapman to sit in in a few also.
Everyone has a plan, till you get punched in the face,

The Yes lineup that played at the RnR Hall of Fame induction.
The David Rawlings Machine lineup that included John Paul Jones.
Alison Krauss & Union Station......she's never better than with this group.
A Stones album that included and fully utilized Mick Taylor and Chuck Leavell.
And someone had a great idea of a Clapton + Derek Trucks album.....get the lineup together that played at Crossroads 2007 (double drummers of Steve Jordan and Ian Thomas)...and have Winwood guest on a couple tracks.
I would say The Jayhawks, but I'm getting that one next month!
