Does anyone remember these guys? They were getting kind of big in the blues/ rock genres several years ago.

Anyway, Davy Knowles, the frontman is playing a bunch of small clubs coming up this winter. I am going to the Chicago show. They are really good. If you haven't heard them, check 'em out. I think most folks on this site will like them.

Saw them open for the Mule at the Anaheim H.O.B. about a decade ago......Knowles can play but thought the band was pretty one dimensional....

Davy lives here in Chicago now. He married a Chicago girl. Really nice guy. Still an absolutely monster player. I'll probably hit the show in town here, Lee you going?

The first time I heard them, they were playing a free noon time concert here in Philly on wxpn. I missed the beginning of the broadcast and had no idea who I was listening to, but was blown away by the sounds coming from my truck radio ! All I kept thinking was, who the **** is this ! I delayed going to my next job and drove around until the show ended and I could hear who it was.
A little while after that, I saw them open for the mule at the tower. Davey Knowles came out and played a couple of songs with one being a kick ass Dear Prudence !

Yup. Got tix for my wife and I. Friday night. Only $17. If you are going I would buy my ticket ahead of time as you know how small that place is. We can meet up ahead of time somewhere or just have a drink in the bar.

I can walk there if I'm feeling ambitious. Smile

I also saw them open up for mule at the tower, my one buddy and I liked them but our other friend immediately at the end of their opening set said, "ehhh they need to go home and practice a lot more."

I agree with BIGV, the only reason why anyone would see them was for Davey Knowles.

Back Door Slam opened for Chickenfoot a few years back in Atlantic City. Nice show. They only had 2 CD's out at the time. I remember digging the 1st more than the 2nd, but the discs got buried in my collection. I have seen him do his facebook live thing similar to what Andy Aledort does at times. I love it aspect of FB. Great playing captured. Not all social media is anti social?

I'll be there....I'm actually, like you said, an adventurous walk away from Schuba's. Great room, just released a new record there in August. I think cap is 150 there, not sure how Davy's been selling lately but I'll definitely grab pre-tix.
