This was on YouTube for a while, then it disappeared. It turned up again six days ago. Download it in case the powers that be decide to grab it again.

It’s hard to believe that there’s video this good of the original band and it hasn’t been released.

It's all about the money. Sad but true. I have it on my hard drive now so there is no losing it.

Awesome video in incredible quality thanks for sharing!

This gives me hope that I will get to see the whole video  before I kick off.

If someone is holding onto this thinking they are going to cash in I think they are kidding themselves. How much of a fan base is left to monetize this video?

It's definitely Atlanta Pop in July 1970.

I've seen Must Have Done Somebody Wrong from the same night time set and Statesboro Blues from the day time set.

Too bad they refuse to release this. It would sell 5 million copies and become the go to video for the ABB at their absolute best of ANY lineup.

The energy coming off H. D. Allman is contagious. I vividly remember how it felt during everyone of the original lineup shows I saw. As good as latter lineups could play, that special mojo Duane had was never on an ABB stage again. It didn't matter they played mostly the same set each time. It was like a certain drug that really got you off. You never tired of the same drug because of how it rang you up!!

I guess guys like Duane, Jimi Hendrix etc can't be replaced. Lowell George has a similar spark and Little Feat was never the same after George split.

if it’d ever been officially released it would’ve been 20 years ago, 2003, to coincide w/the CD release & HTN - it would’ve caused a big ‘uptick’ in sales of all three, & they released a box set that year too

or 2020 mayb, as part of The Brothers concert at MSG -

both years would have given all the releases & shows in 2003 & 2020 a lot of publicity & spurred sales

but lo & behold that ship has sailed & we just gotta be happy w/what’s left -

these clips show the power energy & dynamics of 1969-71, so cool you saw them🍄

@stephen I'm 76 years old. I'll never see it. Apparently it will never be released and it's been 9 years since the band retired.

The Brothers 50th anniversary show would have been a splendid package to release the 1970 Atlanta Pop show with. Yeah that package would have been the best selling release since 1991 when "1969-1979 A Decade Of Hits" sold over 2 million copies!!

I made it to the Love Valley show in 1970 and it was filmed too and some of it is on YouTube but it's not professional. The best part is a fantastic long drum solo Jaimoe does!

Apparently it isn't true that night set in Atlanta was completely filmed or whoever OWNS the rights to it has a price tag the ABB people are unwilling to pay and they think eventually they will get their price.

The audio from those shows was released as a two CD disk release years ago. In the 1990's. I bought it. I think there had been a road block for years getting it released.

This is lousy filming but the focus on Jaimoe begins about 19:00 in to it. Someone should let Jaimoe know about this if he hasn't already seen it.

Decent footage of Duane Allman in the closing minutes of this too.

@manwithnoname I just noticed that Berry Oakley is dancing his butt off while he is playing! I love it. That is Berry talking at the end too.

I'm talking about Don't Keep Me Wondering from Atlanta Pop.

And man is he laying down those notes off that bass guitar.

@manwithnoname No wonder the band is so darn skinny!! They did 307 shows plus sessions in Macon and Miami for Idlewild South in 1970.

All Duane and the boys had time to do is EAT AND RUN!!

Another Duane aficionado pointed this out to me. Go full screen on the video, at the 2:41 mark there's a several second closeup of Duane's "slide." I'd seen it wasn't his typical clear Coricidin glass slide but it's actually a broken off neck from a blue wine bottle! Amazing!

"Is that a real poncho or is that a Sears poncho?"

@oldcoot  I didn't pay any attention to slides and pickup selection or what finger a player put his slide on etc but I did know several of the different guitars players used. I knew Hendrix played a Strat and Clapton played an SG then a Strat and the first few ABB shows Duane played a Gold Les Paul and Dickey a Strat then by summer an SG. Later after Duane's death I began to notice more things about players.

They use to claim Duane didn't use other fingers to damp the strings so unwanted noise from strings not being noted with the slide like most slide players. But since I didn't pay attention while Duane was alive, I didn't know. Warren Haynes' instruction video goes over damping strings with fingers next to your slide to keep unwanted noises away.

But looking at the video above, apparently those guys back then were right! Somehow Duane Allman didn't damp the strings close to the slide position and still avoided unwanted noise from the guitar. Just his unusual approach I suppose.

I'm pretty sure Duane dampened the strings with his last three fingers and edge of palm of his right hand. That's why he finger picked. Hard technique to pick up when you first tried relying on dampening with left hand.

The videos clearly shows him dampening the strings.

thanks so much for these. I have read about the Atlanta Pop vid - I think Galladrielle mentioned it in her book. I still hang on to hope it will be released but...

I have a copy of Love Valley somewhere, another copy won't hurt.

IMO Duane in Mountain Jam after the drum solo is stellar - one of the best I have ever heard.
