This is a combo of concerning and positive. Warren said the reports were overblown so that's a positive, but concerning because it also sounds like they might have been visiting because it was really bad as well with lines like "We just kind of told stories for a few hours and gave him positive thoughts."

Well leaving aside the recent round of reports I have not been under any illusions that Gregg is not in a significant struggle for some time now.

I still found it very heartwarming that the 2 of them visited him together.

The article reads like Gregg has more time but that was the final time Warren and Derek will see him alive. I will assume that Warren and Derek just don't see Gregg a lot, as they are very busy men.

Let's all pray that this finally ends the awful death hoax/rumor BS that has been circulating around the internet and this website for the past week. God bless Warren Haynes and Derek Trucks- two real brothers. May brother Gregg live a long, long life free of any further illness and may he and his wife be very happy together (and be free from internet hoaxes).

Everybody should chill and stop reading what isn't there.

Yes, Gregg doesn't feel well and canceled tour dates. Warren and Derek are decades-old friends dropping in, Warren was in the 'hood since Wanee is a few hours from Savannah, and Derek lives even closer down the road in Jacksonville (TTB is currently on tour break).

So maybe just stop speculating, seems like people have been digging Gregg's grave for him for a couple of decade now.

I agree people should not spread rumors of someone else's death. As in saying it is imminent. Even if true it is not anyone's job to say so. There is however a difference between that and people discussing a celebrities health. Gregg choose decades ago to live in the public arena. Net forums talk about people like that. Telling everyone to not discuss on a forum is kind of opposite the intent of discussion forums. As long as people are being civil, it kind of is the nature of it........ thoughts expressed are not always ours....

I remember Gregg saying that he was so bored when he was recouping from liver transplant and lung surgery. He doesn't like to be home for long periods of time. I think that is probably one of the reasons they were giving him "positive vibes".

In all honesty Warren is not going to come out and say anything negative. I am glad they visited... I wish Mr.Betts would see him.

Love hearing when brothers are looking out for one another.

Wonder if they did a little pickin' while together? Smile

I was thinking the same thing. Although I think if we were to read that Dickey made the trip then the rumors would probably be closer to reality.

This thread from just a month ago takes on some new significance. They must have known he was at the very end. Glad DB made contact too. Miss him so much already.

I miss Gregg as well. I also knew or figured it was the end for him since he canceled multiple tours, was clearly not in good health, and was not even going to play live in Macon for the shows there, so I wrote him a letter personally thanking him for all the joy and happiness he brought myself, my family, friends, and anyone who had listened to his music or seen him live over the decades.

I suspected he might have liver cancer and it turns out he did. 🙁 I am glad he's with his mother, Duane, Berry, Dan Toler, and Butch.

Mr Betts had several phone conversations with Gregg lately...
