Anyone ever see Buddy Guy at Legends?

I am curious if anyone here has ever seen Buddy Guy at Legends in Chicago. I am thinking about flying to Chicago in January and catching two shows there and wondering how standing room is at the club. Is it uncomfortable and how are the sightlines?

Been to the club, not when Buddy was there though. It's pretty small, wide room. The area looking at the front of the stage is limited, but pretty good sightlines from anywhere. And Buddy roams the stage (and off it, especially there from what i've heard) so should be able to get great views at least sometimes wherever you are.

Yes, I've been going the last few years - the old club and the new. It is a small place, and gets pretty packed for his shows - but the sight lines are good everywhere. You need to get there early (like noon or so) to get a seat - most are pretty drunk by the time he starts since they have been there for 10 hours........ I like to stand straight back from the stage near the soundboard against the wall - then I have something to lean on.........I'll be there January 9th.....

been to at least 5 shows a year for the last 17 years. the new club is a lot bigger and you can see pretty good in most places ,can go upstairs and watch on tv also. i aways get there early and get in line, love front row seats you have to get there early to do that on a friday and sat 800 in morning long day when the doors open at 11, used to open at 4 and buddy comes on at 11pm. met people from all over the world standing in line which can be brutal in Chicago in jan. had some good times there is always a crew cooking on first sat and feed all the people there. most prized thing is i have the last pick Buddy used the last show at 754 Wabash

Essex is great place to stay one block from club or you can do the hilton right across street. i would do it. Nothing like seeing Buddy in his own place, i have noticed he has slowed a little since he is 79 years old but he still kicks a##

If they found Lennon or Hendrix alive and announced that they would be there, then I would do this. Any other scenario, for ANYONE else.............FORGET IT.
