Just like all those silly lists by publications like Rolling Stone a list like this is extremely opiniated and incomplete.
A whole bunch of these bars are just trendy hot spots that are "here today & gone tomorrow". Got no history, got no soul. A lot of yuppie cocktail & lounge bars that are not my (personal) taste anyway. You could make a list of the 50 best bars in London, New York etc. and it still would never be a good, honest or complete overview. You can't visit all bars, review them and survive it ha-ha.

But what surprises me the most that there's not one bar mentioned from Ireland and Belgium. That is the same as making a list of the 100 most influencial rock bands in the world but without mentioning a single band from the UK and USA.

Churchkey in DC is on the list. Been there and it is an amazing beer bar. 55 lines of draft, daily sometimes hourly changes.

Typical Rolling Stone bullshit. Bruce Springstten is God no matter what throwaway bullcrap he puts out. He hasn't put out an entire decent album since The Rising and only wants to play stadiums.

How about a NYC institution like McSorley's? Nah, not trendy

I saw this same list and was amused/disgusted as many of you are. The nicest way I can put it is that about halfway through the list, I thought to myself "Whoever made this list is looking for VERY different things in a bar than I am."

My specific complaint, to add to the other worthy ones already mentioned:

Only one bar from New Orleans? And it just opened a few years ago? Really? And they serve Yuppie-fied drinks with Kaffir Lime leaves in them? Really?

Yeah, I'm sure that place is WAY better than The Old Absinthe House, Les Bon Temps Roule, etc.

As often happens in life, some people just don't know what the @#$@# they are talking about.
