allmans on CBS

CBS this morning doing a piece on the end of the all mans with charle rose.

Funny? Ironic? CBS begins the ABB story with "Ramblin' Man"! They use the song again later in the story. Nice opening comments by Derek. Footage from the Toler brothers era ...
They ask Derek, "does this mean effectively the end of the ABB?" - Derek: "never bet on or against it one way or the other".
Great segment! I'll watch the recording again and again!

CBS doesn't have the video up, but here is the transcript:

At the risk of sounding curmudgeonly, this was typical mainstream media fluff. No mention of Oakley's death nor Derek's lineage within the group...glad they did it to remind those who don't know what's going on but a more forceful retirement campaign (summer tour, theatre broadcast of shows) would bring a more approprate level of appreciation for the band in that very demographic to which this piece was aimed. i.e. "they're still together!?!?!?'...c'est la vie: the road does go on forever even if we're not all travelin' it...
