Did you make a separate list for DTB / TTB, or are you just not a fan?

I have not check out Oteil's work. Sounds like it is time for me to do so!

Good list. Looks about right. I would move Pattern Disruptive up some because Warren Haynes and Matt Apps and Dickey too for that matter or so strong. Album didn't sell much but to me that has zero to do with whether I like it.

I'd have a 1d. Gregg Allman Tour with special guest Cowboy is a real good live album. Didn't sell well but it has Bill Stewart and Jaimoe on drums, Chuck on piano and Cowboy and other fine musicians on Gregg's tracks. Then Cowboy has two and Gregg plays organ on one.

Allman and Woman and anything recorded before the ABB formed should be at the bottom. Gregg didn't care for pre ABB stuff and by the 1980's was glad Allman and Woman didn't even sell enough to make the charts. I think he was okay with a couple of tracks but he found the album not helpful to his legacy and that he and Cher we're not a good fit for being in the same band.

I love DTB and TTB. Wanted to finish this before diving in. The plan for that is to listen to each album Derek and Susan did solo to see how there careers built to the formation of TTB. Then listen to TTB. Also wanted to do Gov't Mule separately.

Gregg Allman Tour is a classic IMO. I didn't do live albums outside of LAFE because leaving LAFE off the list wouldn't be right. Listening and ranking all the live albums from the Brothers and family bands would be its own thing.

Then a tie for 2nd between the 1st 2 & Fillmore (also have Beginnings on CD as well as Peach & Fillmore On MFSL half-speed remaster gold CD)
Then B&S the gateway for the remainder of their decades of music, all of which I adore, esp Shades

Good idea to keep the countless live releases separate - it’s Fillmore & Fillmore alone

Couldn't find anywhere online to listen to the complete Dickey albums you mentioned. Just looked up that Gregg album and I was staying away from compilation albums but that seems like something I should listen to.

Does anyone remember the X2 album? Johnny Neel & Matt Abts. That could count. It's what I would say, different. They played at B.B. King's in Times Square during one of the Beacon runs. I want to say somewhere around 2002-2004.

Went "backstage" with them and they both signed my CD cover that I brought with me. Johnny's signature is kind of funny. I was a little apprehensive about asking him to sign the cover since he is blind but he did. He is hilarious. Matt seemed pissed that I was there but Johnny was a lot of fun.

Ipowrie. Yes I wasn't aware you were not including live albums. Now that I think about it, it was oblivious because albums such as Wipe the Windows, An Evening With first and second sets etc were not on the list.

Of course At Fillmore East had to be on the list because it is the album that not only is one of their best but was their breakthrough album going gold before Duane died proving the band was going to make it as an established successful band but eventually sold over a million copies and earned a Platinum award. One million copies is a large amount and means a band or artist is absolutely successful.

Rolling Stone's Tony Glover, liked me, was fooled by Louisiana Lou and Three Card Monty John and Sweet Mama on Win, Lose and Draw. The more I listened to the album, Jaimoe's side on my head phones sounded too straight ahead for his usual way of playing with Butch but he had done a little of that in the past such as Blue Sky and Melissa where his play is very minimal. Then I also learned Jaimoe doesn't even appear of some tracks from the beginning such as Whipping Post on the first album, Pony Boy on Brothers and Sisters was clear as he isn't on the credits for that one but neither is Gregg Allman. And on side one of Idlewild South only Butch plays drums, Jaimoe is on congas and percussion.

The truth turned out to be Bill Stewart and Johnny Sandlin played drums on Sweet Mama and Lousiana Lou. The Allman Brothers were in disarray and apparently had no interest in fortifying their sudden rise to America's number one band from the incredible success of Brothers and Sisters. Gregg Allman said he had his doubts about Brothers and Sisters doing as well as Fnlillmore East and Eat A Peach and hoped his solo album Laid Back would be a breakthrough for him personally. When Brothers and Sisters quickly rose to number one of the Billboard top 200 album chart and stayed their for 5 weeks selling millions of copies and they were suddenly in demand to headline festivals and coliseums coast to coast, none in the band was prepared for that level of success and rock stardom.

The ABB was under pressure by Phil Walden to follow up Brothers and Sisters hoping for another 4 million copies sold but the band was stressed with that pressure and with each other. Butch was especially irritated at Gregg being with Cher and as the sessions for Win, Lose and Draw became more waiting than recording, Butch told Circus and Rolling Stone " You can't depend on Gregg Allman for anything".

Johnny Sandlin said to lower the pressure from Phil and on the band, when Dickey showed up demanding to record, he could only find Lamar and Chuck so he and Bill Stewart ghosted for Butch and Jaimoe and he got Capricorn to rent time in Los Angeles and he took the tapes to LA and eventually got enough on tape out there from Gregg to finish the album.

Johnny said Win, Lose or Draw was the most challenging, depressing and aggravating thing he had ever seen.

But dispite all that, I agree it is better than those Arista records. Can't Loose What You Never Had and High Falls are very good to me. As good as anything on Brothsrs and Sisters

Here's another one I have. Johnny Neel's "Commin' Atcha Live". Jack Pearson is on it and it also includes what I think (not positive) is the first version of Maydell in the ABB camp.

I don't have that Toler Brothers album from 1994 either. They did put out another in 2005 from the band Toler called "Year of Tears". I have a copy of it and if memory serves, you had to order it directly from Danny himself. He wrote me a nice letter when he sent it to me. If I can find my CD I'll post what he said. Something along the lines of being a labor of love.

This one is quite rare: There was a band called "Sundown" in the early 70s. Chuck Leavell is on this. No clue how many were printed but it's extremely difficult to find. It took me a handful of years to find a copy. I think it is only available as an LP.

Scroll through the pictures and you will see some familiar names. It's okay I guess but I would think you'd need to be a serious collector to want it. I still think it is kind of neat.
