I have never seen this video before , I stumbled upon it yesterday. Did not see much info about when, where etc. I assume its probably early 90's. Anybody have any knowledge of it?

Nice! Never saw this one before! Off topic, but I wonder why Warren no longer plays the red Strat anymore? All the times I saw him after he returned in 2001 to the ABB, and solo stuff, I have not seen him use it again. Has he used it? I liked much of Warren's playing in '90's and I wonder how much of it was due to Dickey's presence or Warren's guitar rig.

There is a video on YouTube playing Just Before The Bullets Fly with his then solo band using that Strat. I remember Warren talking about his gear in the early 90s in Japan and I think he said the Fender custom shop made that Strat for him with Eric Clapton electronics and the red headstock.

Yes in the early 90s Warren used that Strat almost as much as his tobacco burst Les Paul. He also used a Paul Reed Smith guitar alot back then.

If I remember correctly that great sounding Strat, and it sounded fantastic as a slide guitar, was stolen. I think the A hole who stole it also stole a glass slide Warren was given that belonged to Duane Allman. I have no idea if they figured out who stole it but I haven't noticed Warren use it since it was lifted. So perhaps Warren never found out where it went.

People who do that are bottom feeders if you ask me.

Warren loved that guitar. It was stolen and never recovered despite intensive efforts, contacting guitar stores, pawn shops, etc... A shame...

Probably someone who knows Warren or knew him during his early years with the Allman Brothers knows where the guitar is. I bet they are afraid to sell it so unless someone is playing it in a bar band, they are stuck.

If they change necks to rid it of it's unique red headstock, that would devalue it.

When it turns up I hope Warren puts a good lawyer on the case and bring charges. For a working musician this is the same thing as horse theft in the 1880 in Dodge City. Hang 'um!!!!

There is a special place in Hell for instrument thieves - they not only take a means of earning a living, but they take a little bit of an artist's soul. I'm not a regular gigging musician, but I have instruments that I would be heartbroken if someone ever stole them.

That sucks. I live in Chicago and this kind of thing happens frequently with smaller bands. Someone breaks into a band's trailer at night (usually in the parking lot of a hotel). They wake up and their stuff is gone. Probably in a pawn shop someplace. Thieves likely don't even know what they stole.

I know people who live in rural areas in the middle of nowhere, and they've also had their instruments stolen from their homes, or home studios. 🙁
