Allman Brothers 2000 06 16 GTE Amphitheatre, Virginia Beach, VA

Jimmy Herring's first show in the band subbing for Dickey (excl the 1-off in 1993).
Just for reference, the missing songs from that video are:
Mountain Jam
Don't Want You No More >
Cross to Bear
Ain't Wasting Time No More
Don't Keep Me Wonderin'

I would love to here something with Jimmy Herring and Jack Pearson. Now that would be a pairing.

I saw this tour at the now defunct Konocti Harbor Resort at Clear Lake, California, Labor Day weekend 2000. Oh My God Derek and Jimmy together were just TOO much! Surprised they didn't do Loan Me A Dime in the show posted here, they did it at my show.

Man, that's so good --- thanks for posting
I think that's the first High Falls from that tour where I liked the Derek solo better than Jimmy's

I remember being at that show. A really nice show with Jimmy H. Times were good.

Honest question / observation for all the guitar heads here--- why has Jimmy's guitar always seemed on the smaller side in comparison to his body size, most particularly via a noticeably shorter neck?
Am I just seeing things or this an actual phenomena and one consciously chosen by his sweetness?
Thanks

Hmmmm...seems proportionate to me. Maybe it's the baggy shirts?
Jimmy isn't a little guy, but I kind of see what you mean when he's playing a PRS which have a smaller more stream-lined body and neck than a Strat. The PRS McCarty models he typically plays have 22-frets with a slightly shorter neck (.5 inch I think) that sits slightly different on the body of the guitar than the 24-fret PRS. But it's not a significant difference. My guess is you're just noticing the PRSs are slightly smaller overall.

@porkchopbob It's probably those PRS guitars. I'm glad you pointed out Jimmy's PRS necks are a bit shorter. I didn't know that. I saw him just a few years ago with Widespread Panic and he played about 60% PRS and 40% Strat.
They have two new Strats at the big music store here now. Both jet black with black headstock and in the bridge position a big Humbucker with silver cover.
I asked Jimmy about this guitar and it has a great fat tone. Jimmy got it from the Fender custom shop with just TWO pickups instead of the usual three and both are Humbuckers.
I'm sure Jimmy is a big reason this guitar sounds so good but still...it is probably the best sounding Strat I've heard. And watch Jimmy's fingers on both hands. He is absolutely a top shelf player.
