ABSNJ is a dear friend.
Today he did something for me that was an act of unbelievable kindness.
I was desperate,as many of us are,for a tix to tonight's show.We were 4 hours away after going to take care of my son who got sick at college...bad flu.We are exhausted,having barely slept for two nights.Thankfully our boy is fine...we feel blessed.
I was getting more and more eager to go,particularly after watching the YouTube of last nights WP.It brought me to tears..43 years since being introduced to this magnificent band,the emotions are overwhelming.
So I emailed and called Alan,probably before 8 am,told him that I need help with stubhub...getting a tix ,picking it up,etc. He can say,but I musta sounded desperate.After losing both parents,my mother in law and brother in law over the last 3 years,losing the Allmans live music,just knowing it was out here even if I wasn't there....I had to be there.
Long winded way(sorry) of saying Alan offered and bought the tix(trusting i'll pay him back!) and is going to pick it up as well before we eat dinner.Alan gave me the time to drive home,eat,and lie down for a bit to get ready for tonight.
I love ya,Alan...you are a wonderful friend...this was an extension of the kindness you've shown me over the last years since we met.
But,not realizing how significant this was to me,this was the most unreal wonderful thing you've done....and well talk about the Dylan tix another time!!!
Have a great time to all who are there tonight...spread the love,kindness,brotherhood and sisterhood that this band gave us.

... and what I did for Effie was the cosmic way of paying forward the great gift you gave to me Brock.
Wow! So nice to come here and see the true brotherhood in full swing. I didn't know the back story on the tickets and what you all did for each other. Even though I didn't get in, I'm happy that I shared dinner with Alan, Effie, Brock, Chuck, Hastings, Bluedad, Greg and Laraine Potter and (to my surprise) Brendan, not to mention an even BIGGER surprise, Lana and Rowland. Add to that the fact that I got to meet Rob, Billy Blastoff, and Eileen (tclawrence) as she and I sat next to each other at Saturday night's show. It's the end of the Allman Brothers, but not the end of meeting more of the famABBly! Yeah, the road goes on forever, and I'm good with that.
