I'm not a taper/trader but would purchase a compilation album of some of the best covers songs that the band did. Maybe I'm just yearning for some 'new" ABB material but I think it would be a cool album if someone did a Dick's Picks just of select cover songs by the ABB when then just nailed it. Will not happen, but maybe there are a couple shows ya'll an point me too.

Not to derail my own thread, but I also wished Gregg would have done a gospel album too. Image a whole album with the feel of "Will the Circle be Unbroken".

That would have been special - great idea of what it might’ve been like on the Easter April 1979 radio show, where they did ones like Jesus, Now There Was A Man, & others - his 1985 cover of Rain w/the choir to my ears has the soaring gospel spirit - the various church hymns & gospel singalongs he could’ve done etc - the Easter tape is special like Motel Shot is in many ways

Same, begin a covers comp w/DWYNMore, end it w/Heart of Stone, then the FE/EAP blues covers,NYLSoBad, the Beacon period w/Layla, WDLHTBSoSad, TNTDODixieDown, Into the Mystic - w/a taste of the oh so tasty Miles stuff they did in 09......
What about I Beg Of You??? 😮 😮 😮 hehe

Could get sorta unwieldy I guess - maybe they’re best listened to all spread out like they are Cool - I do have a homemade tape of the ones they covered, Will McTell/Taj Mahal, Elmore James, TBone Walker/Bobby Blue Bland, SBWilliamson, Jr. Wells............
