57 channels ain't nothing on.

I was going to ask to have this removed. I decided to turn it into something else.

I sit here tonight with my celebratory I made it to the weekend glass of red wine. Mom is asleep. I am listening to Van Morrison. Now we have 357 channels and still nothing is own.
Is any good programming out there? I watch all the documentaries I can. Somebody tell me about some good escapism TV.

Some good "escapes" on the travel channel from time to time

I had some back trouble that kept me from getting out much during February and March. I watched a bunch of BBC television series through Netflix on Apple TV. The last couple of nights the Richmond and DC PBS channels have been broadcasting a really good documentary about the early days of Jazz.
I saw a really good "Nature" about lions and people coexisting in India. That was actually mind blowing.
My biggest guilty pleasures are "Better Call Saul" and "Gotham".
Most evenings now I have the baseball game on the television while i go about the business of the house.

"Better Call Saul" is really excellent. Carefully crafted, with nuanced acting. It really is smart and subtle.
Of course, for big explosive TV, we get Game of Thrones back in 2 weeks.

Yeah, i wouldn't label "Better Call Saul" as a guilty pleasure either. Maybe not the same level as "Breaking Bad" but not many series have ever reached / will ever reach that quality level again.
The only cool thing i saw on the TV in the last few days (except for some re-runs during which i was too lazy to zap) was a very nice and informative documentary about soul / funk singer Charles Bradley (daptone records).

Love Better Call Saul.
Totally quirky and way out there, not really recommending it without knowing your likes, but there is a series called Baskets. Like I said, way, way out there.

If you get AXS they are streaming the Southern Ground music fest: live music, your own wine, a nice seat, no standing in line for food, drink or the porta-potty sounds like a winner to me!

For what it's worth, not knowing your tastes..
Trailer Park Boys (binge watched season 10)
House of Cards (UK version)
Midsomer Murders

"The Rifleman" starring Chuck Connors. It's a (very) old series, not a movie, but you can find it on AMC or TV Land. Old Western stuff centering around Lucas McCain (Connors) and his son Mark. I also love The Munsters............you might find it on TV Land.
