30 Favorite Albums of the 60s

Well, last month, I posted some of my favorite albums of the 70s, and I was following along with the Sea of Tranquility page on youtube. Well, this month, they talked about their favorite albums from the 60s, and I have my list as well. The rule was to try & keep it to just one album per artist, but I had to make en exception with a few people in mine. I also tried to keep it to just studio albums, but I did include a couple of classic live albums as well. I also picked 2 albums on one of the days instead of just one. I know there's a ton more albums that I could've picked, but this is what I have, and I think it turned out pretty good. Here's my list:
#30: Paul Butterfield Blues Band - Paul Butterfield Blues Band
#29: Fleetwood Mac - Then Play On
#28: Moody Blues - Days Of Future Passed
#27: Santana - Santana
#26: Johnny Winter - Johnny Winter
#25: Ray Charles - Modern Sounds In Country & Western Music
#24: Albert King - Born Under A Bad Sign
#23: The Byrds - Mr. Tambourine Man/Crosby, Stills & Nash - Crosby, Stills & Nash
#22: Aretha Franklin - Lady Soul
#21: The Band - Music From Big Pink
#20: Jeff Beck - Truth
#19: Bob Dylan - Highway 61 Revisited
#18: John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers - Blues Breakers With Eric Clapton
#17: Allman Brothers Band - Allman Brothers Band
#16: Steppenwolf - Steppenwolf
#15: CCR - Bayou Country
#14: Taste - Taste
#13: Joe Cocker - Joe Cocker!
#12: The Doors - Strange Days
#11: Otis Redding - Otis Blue/Otis Redding Sings Soul
#10: The Rolling Stones - Beggars Banquet
#09: Beach Boys - Pet Sounds
#08: Cream - Wheels Of Fire
#07: Buffalo Springfield - Buffalo Springfield
#06: B.B. King - Live At The Regal
#05: Jimi Hendrix Experience - Electric Ladyland
#04: The Who - Tommy
#03: Johnny Cash - At Folsom Prison
#02: Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin
#01: The Beatles - Rubber Soul

I see you got Cream and Hendrix in there. That being said, any such list which does not include Disraeli Gears and Are You Experienced? is sorely lacking IMO.

Picking the one best album by Hendrix, Cream, Dylan, Stones or Beatles is near impossible (I would have picked Revolver).
I would have had Stand! by Sly and the Family Stone, but that's me.

x2 - for Sly I woulda picked There’s A Riot Going On - can’t go wrong w/either - that’s the beauty of music - Sly’s solo album Fresh from 1973 is so overlooked - he was a genius in those days - much like the late great Prince would be later, hard funk, played multiple instruments etc
great list
