I watched about 10 videos yesterday and was very impressed. The 2 items that stood out to me are nothing but my opinion and not meant to diminish anyone. First it seems to me Warren runs the band. I think this is important and when one person is in charge it makes life easier for all concerned. Second due to the fact that he had to do the majority of the singing Warren allowed Derek to take more leads and basically be the man on guitar. For me this was great as I enjoy Derek's playing more and he was on fire. Sometimes Derek can be too passive but on this night he looked like the best guy on the planet. It was a performance for the ages. I don't see this band as sustainable but perhaps they can get others and do some tributes. I'm hoping for a DVD.

I thought Warren's playing was exceptional that evening.

I agree with you dzobo I was only talking about quantity not quality. In my experience Warren generally takes more solos and Derek less. No slight to Warrens playing as he is a beast. I also think Warren and Derek together is a special relationship that has produced some of the best music I have ever heard.

It did look as if Warren was the band director. And Derek did have an especially good night. Everyone seemed to play the wonderful songs, many of which, were written long ago, to the best of their ability collectively and individually. All of them were excellent I thought.

Obviously all on stage are big Allman Brothers fans too.

But the show was Jaimoe's idea according to a Derek interview. Derek was skeptical about doing that show but he said he couldn't say no to Jaimoe. Indeed Jaimoe is not only a great drummer with his own great style, he was the FIRST musician Duane Allman hired. I know he already was planning on stealing Oakely from the Second Coming, but he hired Jaimoe first. Johnny Lee Johnson!!!!

Good thread.

I've listened to the show multiple times and also watched the broadcast too. I really enjoyed it and thought they did a great job. My only comment is that I prefer one soloist on Dreams. Both Warren and Derek kill both solos imo.
