I was listening to some of the 1997 Beacon shows. They would throw in some different jams after the drums in 'Liz Reed. On March 23, they did a Grateful-Dead-like jam that ended up having some phrasing from St. Stephen toward the end. On March 16, the jam was very Santana-like. My question is : Did this jam end up quoting any actual Santana songs, or was it simply similar to a lot of Santana stuff?

Anybody recognize a specific song in that one? I guess I also wonder about the other nights they did 'Liz Reed. Does anyone hear them doing tease from anyone else during that Beacon Run?

Thanks for any thoughts on this.

Dont remember specifics about 97 Beacon shows. In summer 96, they frequently teased St. Stephen, Cissy Strut, Third Stone from the Sun, etc. during their long jams (Liz Reed, True Gravity).
