1989 - Was a very good year!

I'll bet when you went to those shows in March & April you didn't have any idea what was coming in August did you? That August show is VERY good. I wasn't there but I do listen to it from time to time.

Exactly. Well kind of, there were "rumors" floating around (Rolling Stone & KMET) that it was possible...I can recall hearing at the Gregg show that Dickey was still in the hood....

Love those ticket prices!!

Everyone has a plan, till you get punched in the face,

I have a bootleg DVD of that 1989 ABB show at Shoreline Amphitheatre. Johnny Neel was actually a pretty good keyboard and harmonica player and they gave him one lead vocal too, not bad at all. It's good, but not as good as that lineup later became (without Neel of course, and with Marc Quinones, who was not in the band yet at this time). I count my lucky stars that a friend turned me on to this. Shoreline used to broadcast all their shows live as they happened on a huge overheard video screen and it was taken off of that feed. He was secretive, wouldn't even tell me how he got a hold of this, but he used to work at Shoreline which pretty much explains it. Pays to know other music freaks..............
And by the way, no, I am not going to start distributing copies of this DVD. Just ain't gonna happen.

Have you ever been to the vine section of the forum? Something like this would be popular.

Also saw Les Dudek, Nils Lofgren & others there in the 80s

I have (or had) a HQ audio cdr of that Shoreline show. On the 1989 tour, Johnny was using synthesizers.....OK as the "horns" on I'm No Angel but hard to stomach him soloing on the synth in Jessica and Whipping Post.
That said, I love Johnny's contributions to Seven Turns and the 1990 (tour where the synths were mothballed).
