Grape Nuts are a dentist's best friend. I'm sure they have broken many a tooth over the years. Wink

Going to see Davy Knowles tonight at City Winery in Chicago. He of Back Door Slam. They were an English Rock/Blues band and still are. They don't play the states a whole lot. The last time I saw him he was in a club and it was a 3-piece power trio type of thing and they were awesome. The place tonight is quite a bit bigger. Think Jonny Lang and Kenny Wayne Shephard for a point of comparison.

Looking forward to it.

I saw them 10-12 years ago. I didn't care for them. A bit too heavy for my taste

Was texting quite a lot with Woods yesterday prior to the Tennessee game. Man that turned ugly. Seems to be doing well probably retiring before too long. I highly recommended it!

THAT'S who that is? I wondered. He's been forgetting that there are Thursday night games as well. Maybe DanB was in Indiana with Woods.

My kids must know me - got a bottle of Jefferson's Ocean bourbon, a Daft Punk cd, and a book about John Prine ...

I assume that is high-end bourbon? THB got a bottle of nice cognac from a vendor and we took it to the watering hole as a gift to one of the bartenders. The staff of three and one regular finished it within about a half hour. I smelled it.

Regarding John Prine, I've been into him a lot lately. You probably already have them but if not, get German Afternoons and Great Days: The John Prine Anthology.

That is coot's favorite gift to Mrs. coot.

As Cousin Eddie would say, "It's the gift that keeps on giving".

Who stayed up the latest last night? I didn't even make the last football game. We did go to Butch McGuire's in the Gold Coast for lunch. They have the most amazing holiday decorations. But they had to take down some of the cool music memorabilia to make room. They have some awesome ABB and Dead - type posters. A really neat Gregg Allman Band poster signed by the band.

Made it to about 2:00 am. Looking forward to the college games today, first one might not be much of a game though.

Happy New Year everyone!

We went to a bar to see a band from 6-9.  Made it to about 12:30 at home.  Band was mostly old guys, but they played a lot of great stuff - including One Way Out ...
