Posted by: @leecoot, I received the discs last night. Wow! That show is just awesome. Steve Earle did a very good job on "Midnight Rider" and "Teach Your Children" was very nice. Susan's background vocals were a good touch. A great concert with the interplay of the artists. Of course, Warren just HAD to get "Soulshine" in there.
And Steve didn't even talk that much, which is shocking.
Thanks so much for sending it!! Although you could have used The Pony Express to deliver it; would have been cheaper!
Glad they arrived and that you enjoyed it.

Been playing a lot of golf now that it's near the end of the season. 3 times last week and 3 times this week. Granddaughter is sleeping over at our house tomorrow for the first time - should be fun ...

Gooooooooooooooooooooood 'ol Fall Weekend! I have tickets for the Cubs tomorrow (might go), Oktoberfests in town, E.L.O. for two nights (I think we are going to one), and of course, fooooooooooooooootball!

Just back from a short trip and trying to shake the cobwebs this morning. Mmmm, coffee.

Happy weekend you old reprobates ... have a good one!

Good luck to all those at GABBAFEST - enjoying the pictures on Facebook ... and I am not that old - at least not as old as coot*

Happy Sunday Morning all -
I didn't know it was GABBAFEST weekend. THB kept showing me things Jackie was posting. I swear I saw an older version of Slammer in a pic but I'm not sure who it is. Snag, you might know. It's just the two of them.

Only picture on her page with just 1 person is her with Martyn from England - he is sticking his tongue out.

Took the Crossbones out for it's last hurrah of the year, Did part Judith, Musselshell, Yellowstone, Powder, and Big Horn Rivers from the homestead (Central Montana) into Wyoming. Then headed west to Yellowstone National Park. Saw some musician friends on the Crow Rez (jammed on some Tommy B era Purple). After a night at The Park (bedroll beneath the stars) took the Gallatin River route into Bozeman Area. Toyed with stopping and poking around in Livingston, but just headed on to Big Timber and went north. Put her to sleep for the winter once home, then fired up a doobie, some Zeppelin, and heating up some elk stew on the back porch. Looking out towards the Little Belt Mountains.

We are losing a big maple tree in our backyard. Had an arborist look at it, and he said it was dying. Got some outrageous quotes for taking it down and grinding the stump. Finally got a good quote, and it is coming down next week. Really going to change the looks of the backyard (and we will lose a lot of shade).

Felt bad that my son and I didn't get to see Neil Young this summer (it was near his birthday). Neil cancelled at the last minute, and it was never rescheduled. So I just got us tickets to see Beat (Belew/Vai/Levin/Carey) play 80's King Crimson at a casino in Hammond. All the reviews so far have been pretty good. Been re-listening to my surround sound versions of Discipline/Beat/Three of a Perfect Pair albums to get ready for it.

Yeah that stinks that they didn't reschedule. Apparently the illness wasn't him if he is currently playing with another group. I haven't seen him in seemingly forever.

Been getting a lot of tomatoes and jalapenos from the garden - meaning a lot of BLT's for dinner lately

You girls are taking this retirement thing way too seriously.

We're pretty much done with our garden. Tomatoes were really disappointing this year, not like usual. Otherwise a pretty good crop of things. Temperatures stayed higher than usual for longer than usual.

I see that the final concert from 2014 is being released by Peach Records.

So the kid of dude that leases part of my acreage drove a tractor thru my fence and I had to go repair the damage. It was close to where the Judith River grazes a corner of my property. My chair was still there (unbelievable, due to the wind that whips thru here)) on the bank and I just kicked it for a bit. The exact spot I released my ol' lady's ashes last September. I rode the Husqvarna 500 out there, so no tunes. LOL

Posted by: @sangSad day yesterday - we had to take down our 35 year old maple tree in our backyard - it really changes the yard (and our shade).

Look on the bright side ... seems like an ideal spot for a practice green

Happy Almost Weekend Eve. Downtown Chicago is kind of congested more than usual with a lot of street closures for the marathon Sunday. There are times when you wish you could work from home every day.

I want the bourbon bottle and the tree. I remember it. Too bad you had to lose the tree. You are correct; it will certainly change the view.

Greetings malcontents!
Fall finally arrives here next Monday that will be a pleasant change!

Happy Football Day! Chicago Marathon started outside our building. The wheelchairs are first, then the elite runners. People are already ringing those blasted cowbells! I forget how annoying they are.
