I'll have an exacta box on the derby maybe some straight up individual investment on single horses. Haven't decided on the exacta yet but I imagine I'll have Sierra Leone in there, probably Catching Freedom, Just A Touch & Track Phantom. In case the favorite Fierceness runs well I'll probably have combo ticket on him.
Still, my "Spidey Sense" thinks it's Pinochhio by a nose!
"Is that a real poncho or is that a Sears poncho?"

Well DanB won, an 18-1 longshot. THB picked him.
I think my horse finished 21st out of 20 horses.

The 20 horse stampede that is the Derby was certainly exciting, with three of them at the wire, can't remember one that close. Cost me twenty bucks, I may start a Go Fund Me. 😉

Happy Birthday Lee! Yes, that was a fun race to watch - don't remember one being that close before ...

* Go Fund Me! That'd be a great name for a race horse!
* Horse Hockey! You've seen those Donkey Ball games - players shootin' hoops from the backs of jackasses? Horse Hockey - ice skates on the equines whilst the jockeys try to slap the puck into the net! I'm copywriting/patenting this and Drunken NASCAR - those car races would be more interesting to watch if the drivers were $hitfaced!

Go Fund Me a much better pony to wager on than Glue Factory or Alpo Helper! There's actually a race horse named Gas Station Sushi, don't think I'd be interested in that either.

Happy Birthday Lee !

Happy Birthday, Lee!

Thanks to all for the well wishes!
Maybe harvey will send his best shows to me? I'll pay the postage!
And Rusty obviously needs psychiatric aid.

Colin keeps a tight rein on those best shows!
"Is that a real poncho or is that a Sears poncho?"

Heh heh ... I certainly keep a tight reign with strangers ... but my best shows are always freely available to my friends ... you know who you are ...

Sadly, most of my American friends, like yourself, are now estranged in that it is unlikely I will get back across the pond to see you ... although I'm glad I have the memories to treasure!

Hey Sang, not sure if you know but The Truckers are playing House of Blues, Fri & Sat, November 1-2. I don't think tix are on sale yet. I thought they once offered some assigned seats but it doesn't look like it. As you'll recall there are probably still some tables if you get there early.
Something to keep in mind. IF the commute is tolerable for you that is.

Even though I am down 70 pounds, I just can't stand for 3 hours at a show anymore ...

Also, there is so much free music out here in the burbs to keep me busy during the summer ...

Gooooooooooooooooooooooood 'ol Donkey Day! Not to be confused with Mule Day!

A coupe of things there.
1. There are seats. You and I have sat at a show or two in the lower upstairs area I know NMAS was one. There are also seats at the bars for a break. Again, get there early.
2. They moved November to autumn several years ago. It's not in the summer anymore.

Finally had my cataract/glaucoma surgery yesterday. Not as much discomfort today as I thought there would be. Quite a few "flickering lights" but apparently that's quite normal and should disappear within a couple of weeks. Vision in the surgery eye is significantly clearer.

Don't confuse the flicking lights with the cops pulling you over.
Hope it gets better coot. That has to be a tad disconcerting.

Of course it's quite normal ... aging Hippie flashbacks! ...

On a serious note, I'm glad the vision is improved Steve!
Thanks Colin, things have progressed better with the recovery than I expected.
