Hey coot -
Yep, I saw it. The only bad part is I will have to stay awake until 9:00 PM.
I was watching the MLB Network a couple of days ago and I don't recall the premise of the show but they spent a half hour just talking about the pine tar thing. I had actually forgotten a fair amount of it. Really looking forward to the show! Thanks.

Los Lobos are playing tonight in the neighborhood. I'm waiting for the prices to drop to a comfortable level. They need to get to about the $40 range. I love the venue. Saw Mule there with Sang.

That really narrows it down ...

Did some shopping, and bought a new computer. Probably take me weeks to transfer everything over. Can't believe even desktops come today with no cd/dvd drive. I'll have to buy an external one, unless I can move the one from my old computer.

Newer cars no cd player either.

An external disc drive might cost you $25 or something. They are kind of a pain because you gotta dig it out.
I had to also buy an external microphone and I think those only cost about the same. I paid Hewlett Packard over $100 for their technicians to fix mine and they couldn't. Grr...
And please tell me wott a car is. I should prolly get a driver's license though. I haven't had one in over 15 years.

Well, after almost 4 years dodging the bullet, I finally succumbed to covid ... been a week now and still no sign of it letting up ... it is my elder son's 40th birthday on Thursday and we are meant to be going down to see him this weekend for a family celebration ... not looking likely at this stage

Covid has cancelled our last couple family gatherings in central Illinois (not me, but relatives) ... hoping everybody stays healthy so we can go down for a Christmas celebration this weekend. Hope you feel better soon Colin ...

Gooooooooooooooooooooooooodc 'ol Monkey Day! I miss that fun, crazy, cheese-fry lover.

Down with pants!

Snag - I sent a text to you and the Chicago "crew" about a free blues show tomorrow at Navy Pier in that ballroom at the end of the pier. I should have sent it when I found out about it but I am going. It is first come first served for entry so I am getting there when they open at 6:00 PM. Show at 7:00 so I don't imagine it will be too late. There's parking there I think.

Gooooooooooooooooooooooooooood 'ol Cat Herders Day!
I think that is an invitation to get as many as you can, dump them into Lake Michigan, and see if it is true that cats really can't swim.

I would be up for that. I told people if I had a cat I would have to paint goal posts on the wall ... meow, it's good!

Going to lunch with all the golfers to toast our leader who died a couple weeks ago. Heading to Central Illinois tomorrow for Christmas with my family there. My 95 year old dad will get to see his great grand daughter (who is now 6 months - time flies) for the 2nd time.

Gooooooooooooooooooooood 'ol National Chocolate Covered Anything Day!

We saw a fun Christmas Blues show last night. Although a little Toronzo Cannon goes a long way. The "guests" didn't get enough time and I liked them all better than Toronzo. Too much of a showman and not my cup of tea on guitar. Great keyboard player though!
It was nice seeing Billy Branch. I had forgotten his age. Still looks good! I saw/heard someone I was aware of but knew nothing about. Miss Ivy Ford. She did a beautiful Silent Night. I need to check her out. Lil Ed stole the show as he always does. He came into the crowd and got down on his knees and crawled on his knees in front of an elderly woman playing the whole time. Of course, everyone swarmed over to him.
I met a couple of them and chatted a bit. It was sponsored by Alligator Records as they are all on that label. I would have thought they would have pumped that up but they didn't. The founder said a few things and that was it. The "merchandise" stand consisted of three things. Only one had an Alligator artist on it, an old release Billy Branch is on, "Harp Attack" (which is great btw), one other CD, and the latest Stones album on vinyl.
2.5 hours. All in all, a fun evening.

Had a family Christmas get together today, about half couldn't be there due to illness. You do what you can with the who that you can.

Back from Central Illinois - really nice time. Most of them had not seen my grand daughter until today. My cousin brought a couple Bourbon County Stouts and split them with my brother and I. One was the Bananas Foster version, and the other was the one stored in Eagle Rare barrels for 2 years. He mixed a bottle with a couple ounces of Eagle Rare. That was outstanding. I let my son drive back ... I also got a bottle of EH Taylor bourbon from my brother for my birthday.

I'd say yes but you might get fooled again.
