I met him before when we saw David Gilmour in Chicago. The Jason Isbell concert was awesome - we had 10th row center tickets. We had a very nice time in Milwaukee. Too bad PeachyPete got covid and wasn't able to make it ...

Saw a great party band last night called Sixteen Candles. They are fun and very good - last of the free concerts on Wednesday nights for this year. Played golf this morning, although not very well. Going to my 50th high school reunion tomorrow in Central Illinois ...

Wow, yer old! You've never seen 16 Candles? They play every street fair they can every weekend in the summer in the city.

Yes, I've seen them a few times - fun band ...

Exquisite weekend ahead, very moderate temperatures, grandkids invading later.

wott the hell was with Kneebraska yesterday?!?!? My god, that QB stinks! I was watching a multitude of games but I really needed them. They were only getting 3 points, which made no sense to me so I picked them. That Simms guy fumbled two snaps and threw an interception, all in the first half I think. I was actually holding out hope for a while and then I stopped watching them altogether.

He did exactly the same thing for three years at Georgia Tech. He can make big plays but he's always been a turnover machine usually fumbling perfect direct snaps to him in the shotgun formation. Not kidding, in the spring game he must have done that a half dozen times. Then, rather than fall on it and keep the ball, he tries to scoop it and run. Had he just fell on it those times last Saturday it would have been 0-0 at half instead of 13-0. Tired out the defense too because Co;orado had the ball virtually the entire first half. Backup QB is from a smaller high school in Nebraska. He can run like the wind, not a great passer. Speculation is the backup starts tomorrow. Eight turnovers in the first two games, tough to stay in a game with that.

Well, today is a sad day. I had to put down my Coca-Cola refrigerator. This is a small refrigerator, all with Coke logos and whatnot, that you might find in a college dorm. Perfect for a 12-pack. I tried to perform surgery last night but to no avail. So I turned it over to our building engineer to see if he could work his magic. This guy can fix anything!

Did you skip Football Thursday?

Well, yes and no. I took Philly to cover but I lost by the hook (half a point for you non-bettors out there). But I wasn't too disappointed because an NFC North team got another loss which helped Detroit.
Looking forward to college ball tomorrow. Not that there are a ton of primo games but it is still college football after all so I will grill some things here and watch the games.
No grand kiddies to entertain.

Gooooooooooooooooooooooooood 'ol International Country Music Day!
I guess Harvey can participate. I'll bet he owns cowboy boots and a cowboy hat!

My 50th reunion was a lot of fun. Sure were a lot of old people there though ...

Boots, yes ... hat, no ... but as for country music, not my cup of tea ... the closest I get to liking it is Dickey Betts' tunes in the ABB catalogue...

Missed it by a day, had one last night.

Beautiful morning today. Continuing yesterday's effort to eliminate a wasp's nest. Should I listen to the Crowes "Sting Me" before proceeding? Maybe not.

Played golf this morning, got done before the rain. Don't think we are in a drought anymore ... cut the grass Thursday and Monday, needs it again.

I would suggest something by Sting. Perhaps "Every Breath You Take" in the event something goes awry.

Or perhaps the Maple Leaf Rag by Scott Joplin

I sure hope Sang doesn't get reprimanded for driving his golfball cart on the greens.

Been a good while since we had a gully washer rain but we got one last night, everything nice and soggy. Could very well turn into a back patio cigar afternoon.

More sad news about my Coke refrigerator story. Number II unfortunately is underperforming. I am going to cut her this week. Watery buildup in an electrical appliance cannot be a good thing. Especially when I have no idea where the water could be coming from.

Sang - You will "love" this. The Bears have lost 12 straight games. Even that surprised me. But in those games, they have given up 25+ points per game.
Good luck today!

Been busy doing stuff around the house. We had a 45 foot blue spruce in the front yard next to the house. We had it taken down, along with the 5 bushes we had. Wott a difference! My dad planted the tree about 36 years ago, and it was too close to the house - shingles were turning green underneath it, and it kept clogging the gutters. They took away the tree, but left a lot from the stump grinding - took a lot of work to clean it up. Now that it has rained so much I have to cut the grass about every 3 days.
Playing golf 5 out of 6 days this coming week (weather permitting). First one tomorrow is a charity outing at a private course - it's very expensive, but a lot of fun and includes a steak dinner.

Gooooooooooooooooooood 'ol National One Hit Wonder Day!
Who wants to hear me sing in the shower?
I think a rousing rendition of "Singing in the Rain" seems appropriate.
