Yes, that turnout for the volleyball set a world's record for a women's sporting event. I imagine the 003 was for making the number precise. Old record was 91 thousand something.

Posted by: @leeBuddy Guy's was a lot of fun Friday night. It reminded me of when I used to go in there years ago and I felt like a tourist. Took a bunch of pictures. I was hoping Buddy might show up but he didn't when we were there. Harmonica Hinds was fun. I forgot that I have seen him before, I figured at Blues Fest and when I talked to him he said he used to play it all the time. Food was great as I said and nice to get into the city after work hours.Â
Sounds like a fun night ... on Tuesday I will be going to a small local venue to see Wishbone Ash ... they are playing the "Live Dates" album live to celebrate its 50th anniversary ... one of my favourite albums of all time ... and also this will be my first live gig since pre-pandemic - which is quite fitting because they were also the last band I saw live in autumn 2019 before the sh!t hit the fan
Â

Argus - one of the best albums ever ... saw them at Chicagofest when it was on Navy Pier ...Â

coot* - you should join the NFL pick'em pool this year - unless you are scared ... Â

Although I've heard of Wishbone Ash, I've never heard their music. i looked and one of the former members I recall from the band Asia. Is it kind of like hard, prog rock?

Â
Twin lead guitar sound similar to original ABB, but more prog/blues than ABB rock/blues ... give the album "Live Dates" from 1973 a listen - my second favourite live album after ABB At Fillmore East
Â

The Wishbone Ash Live Dates 50th Anniversary gig at a small local theatre on Tuesday night was superb ... some of the keys may have been changed vocally as Andy Powell (at 73) can no longer quite hit some of the higher notes, but it was done in such a way that you hardly noticed ... and the guitar playing was still excellent ... the current twin guitar foil for Andy is Mark Abrahams and for me he is the best since Ted Turner of the original line up. If you get a chance to see them when they come over to the States later in the year, GO ... the current version of "Phoenix" is worth the entry price alone!!!

Good Evening! Settling in to watch some football this evening. And NOT the one where the ball is round. 😉Â

Played golf this morning and had a pretty good round. Babysat the granddaughter again today - what fun!

Rained here this morning - need to get the grass cut. Going up to Milwaukee next Tuesday to see Jason Isbell ...Â

Gooooooooooooooood 'ol North Mississippi All-Stars afternoon!
Heading a bit north of our place to catch NMAS tonight. Table seating which is nice. Usually when I see them everyone has to stand. I don't recall the last time I saw them. I don't know what their lineup is tonight. It has changed off and on over the years. Seems like they need a bass player although I have seen them as a duo. Maybe that will be the setup in this an intimate venue.

Do you and Scott still want to get together for lunch or dinner? If so, let me know the what/when/where.

It would have to be lunch, the show is at 8 in Milwaukee. Thought you were "working" - so we need to know the where and the where to park from you. Probably 11:30 or 12, depending on traffic and parking. I'll give you a call Monday to figure things out. If it were up to me, it would be Greek Islands, but I have no idea where your work is.

Goooooooooooooooooooooooooooooood 'ol Football Afternoon! Beautiful afternoon. Would be a great day to go to a game. I asked my buddy to go to the Northwestern game but he is busy so I will lay around, enjoy some Miller Lite and channel surf. There's a ton on TV today. Â

Daley Center. I have no idea where to park around there but I know it isn't easy. If it makes it easier for you two I guess Greek Islands is fine. I know you like Greektown, even if that cool place closed down. Now I think it is an imigrant shelter.
I'll stay as long as you want, no problem. I'm sure you know the parking around there. Driving to Milwaukee shouldn't take more than two hours I wouldn't think.

Last night's NMAS was kinda eh. It was high quality. Although having table seating was worse than the seats I always take right above there. Much better sight lines. Still fun though.

wott the hell was with Kneebraska yesterday?!?!? My god, that QB stinks! I was watching a multitude of games but I really needed them. They were only getting 3 points, which made no sense to me so I picked them. That Simms guy fumbled two snaps and threw an interception, all in the first half I think. I was actually holding out hope for a while and then I stopped watching them altogether. Â

The nice thing is Greek Islands has valet parking and it's right next to the expressway ... that is why I suggested it if you can do it ...Â
Â

Yep, that's fine. I figured it was close to the expressway. Further into the loop is a little more problematic. I can clear the afternoon so as long as you guys want to stick around, that is cool with me. Looking forward to meeting nebish. I kind of feel as though I know him.
And of course, I can tolerate you. Â

Just back from a week in Colorado, now I need to rest from vacation! Glad you fellas got to meet Nebish. I did a few years ago when he came to Lincoln for a Nebraska game. Nice guy!
