I thoroughly enjoyed my Yorkshire Puddings today, thank you ... of course the Roast Lamb that accompanied them was the main event ... I do like a roast dinner on a Sunday ... Very Hungry

Celebrated my son and his wife's birthdays last night at a local hibachi restaurant.  Have enough left over scallops for a couple of meals.  He seemed to enjoy the bottle of Eagle Rare bourbon that we got him.

With you being on a bourbon diet surprised that bottle made it to your son.... Surprised

Trying to be a little healthier - blood sugar was high last time at the doctor - been cutting out carbs (as much as I can) and sugar.  We also got a Nordic Track bike and I have been doing about 5 miles a day on it.   Drinking more bourbon than beer.  Lost 10 pounds so far.  Need to have blood sugar and A1C checked in early March.

Leland, your thoughts on the SB, either straight action or any interesting props?

You certainly don't want to tip things toward diabetes particularly if there's a family history. I think I may employ the bourbon angle with she who must be obeyed on the "established health benefits." Wink

Congrats on losing 10 lbs! Years ago my buddy wanted to lose weight so he switched from beer to vodka. I think it worked.

If you really want a workout I can hook up up with my physical therapist. You will lose weight (even though I don't want to) and forget you had muscles. Shocked

Well cootland -

Picking the winner: if a Chiefs fan and an Eagles fan talked me into it I could probably pick either one. Both teams have good arguments. I would flip a coin on that. I have no real rooting interest but I think I am pulling for KC. I know people here who are fans of both.

I like Isiah Pachero of the Chefs to get more than 12 carries. -104 They have been giving him the ball a lot more and that other guy they just activated probably won't see the ball much.

Travis Kelce to score a TD -117 Seems like he always scores a TD

A.J. Brown o/u on number of catches. It is only 5.5 which I don't understand. They will probably throw to him 10 times. So over +102

The stupid bets are stupid bets as I think you said. Will a kick hit the goalpost? Color of gatorade? Game temp?

The one I REALLY hope to see is if the camera catches a fan putting ketchup on a hot dog. That one I would bet. Laugh

Definitely more Chiefs fans around here than Eagles.

So far I only have two prop bets, Pacheco to have more than 1 1/2 receptions and Mahomes' first rush attempt to be more than 3 1/2 yards. He never QB sneaks anymore after dislocating his kneecap a few years back and any scramble that he's tackled behind the line is a sack and not a rushing attempt. I just hope that he can get 4 or more the first time he takes off. I think I recall his over/under rushing yards for the game is 19 1/2. His ankle status will keep me from betting any of his other props. If he avoids further injury he could play great but if he tweaks it again all his totals could go way under. I'm still pondering Goedert over his receiving yards but likely won't play it.

Glad you mentioned Goedert. Reminds me that I still have an outside shot at wining this pool I'm in where you pick one guy from every team in the playoffs. I picked him for Philly and have Mahomes for KC. Goedert will probably will to score three TDs or something but I still have a chance. When Mahomes got hurt I figured I was toast, maybe not. But he was limping again in their last game.

coot - You asked about prop bets and I saw one that intrigues me. Hassan Reddick at MVP. +3000. He's a defensive end for Philly. Definitely a flyer but who knows, a few sacks and a fumble recovery?

Sure do miss John's sense of humor and wackiness. Only got to meet him once and was hoping for more opportunities that never presented themselves. He had such a wide range of musical interests. Not sure why I was so surprised but I was that his favorite guitarist of all was Mahavishnu John McLaughlin. R.I.P. Space Monkey.

I had the pleasure of meeting John at a Beacon pre-show party in 2006 ... the following day Lee and Sang introduced me to Hooters and John was in there munching on his favored cheese fries ...

I love that pic. The only guy I know for sure that I don't know is the fella kneeling down in the front. I think he is someone's friend.

Although the nefarious character with him around croky might be another one. 😎

The guy kneeling down is Rich Cipolla from Delaware ... he posts on here as "Richdel" ... he used to post regularly in "The Lounge" and trade shows in there ... nice guy
