I saw Johnny two nights at the Ryman in the Spring. I have seen Johnny probably 50+ times. Second only to the ABB.

Again, I agree, very nice of Lee, I know he isn't looking for kudos, but we just don't hear enough of that sort of thing these days and it is very outstanding.

Not to get all sappy, but it reminded me of the John Prine song, Hello in There - trust me, unless you want to get a little misty eyed, do not go look up the lyrics.

I get to see Johnny and Jason Isbell on NYE. From the FRONT F%%#ING row.

Wow!

Who's headlining? I would think Jason.

It's a co-bill with Kacey Musgraves opening. I don't know who will play first or be playing at midnight, but I don't care.

Hey Alan, anything you want me to pass along to Butchie Friday ? ha, ha - anyone else ?

The encounters I have had with Butch have been remarkably pleasant - unlike some of the other stories I have heard. At Wanee, I told him to stop using my credit card. If he knew I leaned conservative, he would probably call me names...

should we make Butch a list?

Ramping up a little tonight on Washington State and Boise State. I don't expect a lot of effort from either Minnesota or Baylor.

Hopefully feather the nest a little to load up even more on Tennessee on Friday.

That should be a pretty good game. Tennessee can't stop the run. At all.

We have a rule here in Knoxville. Don't ever bet on Tennessee. You'll lose either way. And betting on them to cover a spread? You just never know.

I passed on the bowl game. I went to Nashville to see the Vanderbilt game and was so disgusted, well actually I still am, that I just wasn't going to go down there and see Kneebraska kick their asses.

I know Tennessee is fairly weak on D, but, our top QB is out, the backup is playing with a broken wrist (which will take away the run option and put us in the shotgun the whole game), our top receiver is out and our best defensive player too. We've always struggled against QB's that can both run and pass well. I see the points have gone from 3.5 to 6.5.

I'm still gonna have something on UT.

'Twas in Lincoln today for some minor surgery on a grandson, everything went fine.

Checked out a couple of liquor stores looking for Dragon's Milk.

The only one that had any only had the Coconut Rum Barrel version. Not sure that I'd have chosen that if other variations were available, but, going to try some.

Sang, I think maybe you've had that, did you like it?

I had it on draft, and really liked it.

Gonna crack one or two open tonight.

11.2%, gotta take it easy on those. 😉 Cool

Getting a little nervous about my Northwestern wager today. They're up 7 and are getting four points. Sure don't want to see it go to OT, that could mess up everything.

Have SCU of M and A&M both -3 later. You can't spell SCUM without UM. Smile

BHawk knows I just can't take a Bill Snyder coached team. I'd hafta burn the money if I won.
😉 😛

Tried the Coconut Rum Barrel Stout.

Couldn't drink it all the time, but, it is very tasty. Downing the second one soon. Cool

Need A&M for a clean sweep today. Smile

It changes from time to time, but, for a while Ted Koozer from Kneebraska was the National Poet Laureate. Imagine that, poetry in Nebraska. (Actually, has obviously, written some pretty amazing stuff)

Have met him three or four times. Had an interesting chat with him about John Prine. As Poet Laureate (I think it's the Smithsonian) that allows him to interview a person of their choice for their archives. He chose Prine.

First heard Prine when he and Steve Goodman shared the stage.
