Marc Ford was well worth the $15 cover last Friday, especially with Steepwater Band opening.
Towards the end of Ford's set, Jeff Massey came out for a blistering Loan Me a Dime.
Had to pull out the Boz Scaggs lp this morning for a little morning blues and exercise.

Visited with a local liquor store owner, where I'd gotten Bourbon County Stout last year, and he says they likely won't be getting any this year. Some of his numbers didn't make sense, he said only 20% of what what bottled in 2015 is available this year. Hard for me to believe that Goose Island would make a marketing decision like that, unless there were production problems or something similar.
Plus, due to its scarcity this year, distributors were tying its purchase to numerous other items from the distributor, so, this guy had balked at that.
I could see maybe a 20% reduction in BCS, but, 80%? That doesn't sound right to me.
Anyway, if you snag some, feel fortunate.

If you remember, they had big problems with quality last year with a few recalls. This year they pasteurized it, something they hadn't done before. Didn't hear anything about less production, though. I don't have mine yet, but people that have tried it said it is the best yet.....
Why is this stuff so popular? I have a few stores around me that sell stuff like that. We actually have a store in our building that does. I can look around.

Haven't seen any around these parts. Though, I am 4 miles from THE Bourbon County, and about 12 miles from Woodford County. I'm surrounded by world class bourbon and I love it.
Bourbon County Stout is made in Chicago by Goose Island, but of course they use bourbon barrels to age the stout...... everybody is getting into the barrel aged game these days.....

Went to have blood drwn this morning for my annual check up next week. Stopped at a liquor store, asking for the Lagunitas One Hitter special - Coffee stout in High West rye Whiskey bottles.... said they didn't get much, had a limit of 2 bottles - said come back tomorrow to get 2 more. Stopped at Binneys - of course they were out - "we got it yesterday, and it's all gone"...... seems to happen to all beers I want.
One of the bottles was very good though - 12.2% alcohol.....
