Lee! Should I bring an umbrella for Friday? Or is there shade/overhang somewhere where we'll be at? I am guessing beer is $8 or somewhere around there?

Looking forward to it. One more sleep then will be in Chi-town. Cool

It is supposed to rain Friday. I am crossing my fingers that it doesn't. I've been going to this for 10 years and the weather has always been great. There really aren't places to escape the rain so I guess an umbrella isn't a terrible idea.

Regarding beer prices, you have to go to one of these booths and purchase strips of tickets for any beer or food. Then you give the tickets to the vendors to get your item. The number of tickets you need never matches with the amount you need so you always end up over or under with your tickets. It is kind of a pain in the ass.

$8 is probably a little on the high end but not far off.

Thanks Lee. Will pack a small umbrella for this just to be safe. Also, any seating or is it open on the grass/lawn?

Here is Friday's lineup. Not the best but as I have said before, it still fun to just be there. Supposed to be a high of 82 but a 73% chance of thunderstorms.

Let me know if Tyrannosaurus Chicken plays their hits!

I've seen Super Chikan a few times (with his bouncing band), but T-Chicken is new to me.

He wrote a book called Punch: The Delights (and Dangers) of the Flowing Bowl. Plus some other ones. Heard about this from an NPR article about the history of iced tea. May have to go to the library and check out a copy.

The Amazon Description

Replete with historical anecdotes, expert observations, notes on technique and ingredients, and of course world-class recipes, Punch will take readers on a celebratory journey into the punch bowl that starts with some very lonely British sailors and swells to include a cast of lords and ladies, admirals, kings, presidents, poets, pirates, novelists, spies, and other colorful characters.
