Man, he sure was thunderous. He brought a real fire to his playing and the Whipping Posts with his crazy 18 string (or however many it was) bass were legendary. The band became a lot more jazzy when Oteil joined, but Woody was thunderous and ominous. His playing was a times a little scary, not an adjective I would use for any other bass player that played in the Allman Brothers Band.
Anyway, sure do miss him
