this gets me so angry, you people wanna sit? FINE but dont tell people that ARE DANCING HAVING A GOOD TIME TO SIT. personlly i dont know how anyone can go to an allman brothers show and sit the whole time, but you have NO RIGHT to tell someone to SIT at a CONCERT where people go to DANCE, ITS ROCK AND ROLL! i cant tell you how many fights i get into with people that want me to sit. you wanna sit? then get row A, or go see tony bennet, but dont tell me to sit, i will sit ( or lay) enough when im dead. last night at the show clapton was RIPPING reed and most of the balcony is sitting, are you serious? i paid over 200 bucks for a ticket and i cant dance?? AT AN ALLMAN BROTHERS SHOW?!?!?!? THEN THEY GET SECURITY??? damn but if your too old to dance, theres this great new thing called moogis, you can order it online and watch it at home and sit the whole time.

Hey you can dance...just don't do it if you're in the seat in front of me as I've flown 4000 miles and paid more than you to see my favourite band ,not you shakin your ass.

(If everyone is standing that's fair enough. I'll stand.)

Make sure you're in good shape if you are going to dance in front of me. Maybe I'll stuff a dollar in your shorts!

This topic comes up ALL the time on this site - honestly both sides have a point. I side with standing and dancing always - but I would have to TRY and accomodate someone who was sitting right behind me - everybody paid for their seat - just have to do our best to get along so all enjoy it. NEVER NEVER worth fighting over.

A few fast points:

This argument comes up all the time on this site (like drkstr40 said) and is never gonna be settled. Nobody's right or wrong.

Some people sit because they are physically unable to stand for a whole show.

People pay good money for their seats and I think they're entitled to sit down without being called "lame ass" just because they still want to see the show.

Some people are patient enough to let people dance in front of them when they sit, but not everybody is, and I don't think anybody should assume the person seated behind them is cool with the dancing.

Nobody in the crowd is Baryshnikov and the music sounds just as good when you sit down.

Finally- at least we don't get a lot of twirlers at Allmans shows.

Why not?... The venue does have seats?

You want to dance and act as though NOBODY matters but you?.....That's cool, go see the Band at a standing room only venue, where you can dance the night away. Until then, May I suggest that YOU stay at home and watch the show on Moogis, where YOUR dancing doesn't block the view of anyone who has the bad luck of sitting behind you.

I really hope you never have tickets near mine. Sounds like you are rude just by the tone of your email. Some people can't stand, does that mean they have to get Moogis and never attend a show?

I think there is an unwritten rule about this so as to respect all. If you are on the floor standing, dancing etc is permitted. No standing in LOGE until the song is over and then you need to sit when the playing resumes. Never have been up in the balcony and have only heard stories about what goes on up there. If you are a long time fan like some of us, then our age might not allow us to stand do to some medical issues. We are all there to have fun I have MOOGIS and have been to shows this run. I don't get get seats on the floor anymore, because I can't stand the whole show. There was a very drunk stander in LOGE the other night who was told by many to sit. It's sounds like you would have alot of fun at Wanee or Hunter Moiuntain. Hoping the rest of the run is good for all.

It goes both ways. What I've always done is when I introduce myself to those next to me, behind me and in front of me, I mention that I like to get up and groove if the mood strikes me. Generally I haven't had a problem. Sometimes even though I feel like standing I'll sit down if the folks behind me are sitting. Other times I'll keep it going. Worse comes to worse, get up and walk around and dance while doing that.

Rock the Hell On Everyone! THE ROAD GOES ON FOREVER!

i dont even stand the whole show, id say 60% of the time, if someone is old or hurt or something of that matter i dont stand directly in front of them ( im really not an **** ) i try to go to the aile or i even ASK if there is a place i can go, BUT when there are 2 songs left in the night, and its a ONCE in lifetime show going on with ERIC CLAPTON and its elizabeth reeeeeed???? then im sorry, you have no say, time to stand.

People were sitting while EC played with the ABB???? I'm amazed!!! I might not be dancing but I'd be standing and cheering for sure.

Note I would rather sit in last row at hockey game and stand then sit in a seat. Thats just me. I stand up in my living room watching sports if its a good game on TV. LOL

I usually turn around and ask the person who is telling me to sit down, 'How much did you pay for your seat?'

when they tell me I say, 'Me too!'

and continue to dance.

It's a rock concert not a chamber music performance.

So, you haven't just "Fought" once about this,...you get into "fights" as in many, many times...ever think?...maybe your attitude needs a little tune-up?

Folks, if you are so inclined, have a look at some of this guy's previous 28 posts. {If you don't know how, just click on 'Find' at the bottom of his post/s in this thread.}

See the Beacon Boobs thread and the Beacon 3-17 Play By Play thread for some of his lovely pearls of wisdom. Just want y'all to know what a disrespectful and mean-spirited person he has revealed himself to be on this site.

I am all for dancing and singing! I went to both shows in ATL in Oct. and on Sat. I had someone tell me they came to hear Gregg sing and not me! I understand that, but don't sit down in your seat the whole show after telling me that!

Well in my concert expierience... my dad hates standing so he always gets loge seats (or if my mom gets the tickets i usually tell her to get them right when they come out to get up close and we end up with top row of the prudential center or whatever arena were at and the performers end up as grains of sand haha) BUT ANYWAYS... as for the floor, it depends on who is performing and the type of crowd. When I saw EC at PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, NJ, the whole thing is a giant slope so you could sit or stand without bothering anyone which was awesome but for most of the time people were sitting until the big hits started rolling like Layla and Cocaine and then everyone from the front rown to the yard were standing and dancing and smokin weed and what not. When I saw Steve Winwood at a theatre like the Beacon most of the time people were sitting from the floor and the loge until the last song and then encore and then people started to go crazy dancing and singing when he played Gimme Some Lovin and Dear Mr. Fantasy AWESOME!!!

For bands like the Allman Brothers and most other bands... don't buy floor if your not willing to stand the whole time because that is how it works. ON THE OTHER HAND... don't buy loge if your not willing to sit for a majority of the concert!

Loge is for older, handicapped, and straight up lazy guests that don't wan't to dance. That little old lady behind you should not have to stand up and still not be able to see over you. thats not nice!

My moms friend has a fake leg and she cant stand for very long. what if shes the lady behind YOU?

Little bit of a strong opinion here. Did you take into consideration that maybe some people can't dance the entire show or prefer to sit or like to do a little of both. I like to dance as much as I can, but being that I like to be considerate of other people, I won't unless most everyone else is. On Tuesday, we had some jerk 2 rows in front of us dead center of the balcony and he was blocking all of our views. Maybe it was you. Next time think of others.
