Does anybody know the best Van Morrison unofficial fan site with forums? I found one last year but google is no help in finding it again.

Anybody excited about the upcoming Astral Weeks shows in New York?

Thanks.

the fan site at van-the-man.info has been shut off for some reason.

The official Van Morrision site press release about the new record and MSG shows
indicate 2 bands he is playing with at MSG. And hints that some rarely preformed songs will be played.

I don't know about a forum, but I am THRILLED about the Astral Weeks show.

It's a pricey gig, but I got a couple pretty nice at not-too-bad-a-cost. Love full album shows and this is def. a top choice in that regard.

From reading some of the information related to that particular website...
...and a great site it was,...... it seems that it fell victim to the legal threats
of the Van's management/legal representation.

It's sad because that website provided a wealth of information that became
the foundation of my understanding of his art. I see the decision to bully the
site owners into taking down their obvious labor of love as a real shame.

Thank goodness for sites similar to this one.

It really is sad that I want to name each one
of those helpful sites of other artists that I admire.....Unfortunately,
I refrain from doing so on the small risk that some "eager legal beagle"
with more book learnin' than sense would do the same to those sites

Thanks all. That must have been the site I was thinking of, van-the-man. It had a great and informative fan forum, like here. Too bad Van's lawyers are so thorough. You can't even find Van on YouTube anymore except for official videos with VM across the picture.

I was hoping his on-line fans would pop up somewhere to exchange reviews, set lists, stories and pre-show meet-up plans, but I haven't found it yet.

Anyway, very much looking forward to the New York Astral Weeks shows...... not to mention March at the Beacon!

Wow, I have not seen Van since he co-headlined with Dylan as he is ridiculously hit and miss. But given the reviews of the Hollywood Bowl show and that Astral Weeks is one of my favorite albums, I scored a 90 dollar ticket. Really expect to be blown away.

I sure enjoyed his set at JazzFest two years ago. I'd love to see Van again.

Van has delivered big for me in my two shows seeing him (2005 @Apollo Theatre and 2007 @Chastain Park).

Unless something is different, expect a 90-95 minute concert. No talks and virtually no breaks between songs. I'm not sure his band even left the stage before the encore. You get more music than a typical 90 minute show, but be prepared.

Two great shows.

I think the MSG shows are 2 sets if I understood the press release.

. A jazz band for the Astral Weeks set, then another band for the retrospective set.
