The powers that be in Augusta/Richmond County are talking about turning certain intersections into roundabouts. One of them is at the intersection where my daughter lives, right next door to our church. The two other young people in the video, Tabor and Brandon, are members of the praise band I play in. Tabor sings and Brandon plays guitar. Laura and Tabor are room mates, and Tabor and Brandon are dating.

Your daughter did very well in the interview.

Is George a "hire the challenged" guy?

He's painful to watch.

I like those Roundabout's. I think they use them in England.

Your Daughter did well, you know how some folks make a fool out of themselves.

The only way I'll ever be on TV is if there toting me out of my home in a bodybag or a straightjacket.

And he does take some getting used to....but seriously Dave, we call them traffic circles here in NJ and they are disappearing here in Jersey whenever possible being replaced with traffic lights.
But they are functional in certain areas as long as folks remember the merge rules.

Kenny, I know you're joking, but that's really not funny. You're loved around here, whether you ever get on TV or not.

A million dollars? Sorry, that's a big waste of money. If the 4-way stop signs aren't cutting it, what's wrong with a traffic light?

As Dutch said, they've been getting rid of them in NJ for years. In the heavily populated areas, they cause accidents and big traffic backups.

Dave, Laura and friends did a great job!

Ha, that's cool Dave!! Tell everyone they will get used to it. Like anything new, it takes getting used to it. We have many of them up here but they call them a rotary. If it's a busy area they are helpful to keep cars moving. If you aren't sure where you are going, it gives you the time to go around a few times till you figure it out! LOL! On Cape Cod there are many of these with several connecting roads.

Laura is a natural!

Terri, I agree in a heavy populated area they can be a problem but I really find them helpful on Cape Cod. Especially coming off the bridges. Often the main problem is the people who do not know how to yeild into them.

The intersection where Laura lives is fine as it is. It's a residential area, and although a lot of cars go through it every day, it doesn't need any improvement. If three 20 year olds can figure it out, surely the city powers can. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Its prolly just local politics and engineers thinking they have a better solution, but as much as I hate 4 way stops, if there are not a lot of accidents and locals have the hang of it, let it be.

I think the Sagamore bridge rotary is history, but I have not used the Bourne Bridge in a few years. They have a lot of smaller rotaries on the Cape which are great. Rotaries are starting to pop up in our town. The ones in Scotland are hell, thats because your driving on the other side of the road and heading in on the left, which makes everything bass akwards.

Your daughter did great Dave, I know it makes you proud. Hope to see you in Greenville in Feb!!

We have them down here but not high traffic ares yet. I don't find a problem with them. It is a good solution, I think. Besides that, people need jobs.

They have them in Nova Scotia, where they don't work very well due to the politeness of the drivers. They stop and wave you to go ahead and then it's like no, you go ahead.
We were there three years ago and it was kind of funny. Also kind of nice.

You guys drive round them the wrong way over there in the States , that's why you get accidents

They are everywhere here in the U.K. and they're great for putting xmas trees and war memorials on
