In the last few days, we've been hearing an increasing amount of terrible things that will happen if Obama is elected: a new wave of socialism, a terrorist in the White House, the destruction of the economy, the Democrats will take all personal income, the Boy Scouts will disband, the New World Order will be established, basically life as we know it will cease to exist. Apparently earth shattering awful Armageddon-like actions will be set into motion. What a year. Well, things are not that different, once again the Cubs won't win the World Series...

All that said, I'd like someone to say why I or anyone else should vote for John McCain. What will he do regarding the economy, the war or any other issue? What is his message? What is the Republican platform? I certainly don't hear it from him. All I hear is why Obama is not fit for the job. I don't hear why John McCain is fit for the job other than "he's not Obama."

So can anyone give some reasons, and can you give them without using the words "Barack Obama," "Democrat," or "liberal?"

This is so pointless as I know you are not serious and I gave up attempting to sway people a long time ago as I seriously doubt you are still undecided.....BUT...ST used to do this all the time, so I thought I might as well also:

http://www.johnmccain.com/Undecided/WhyMcCain.htm

There is a very nice video and buttons on the right for all these issues:

On The Issues

The Economy
American Energy
Health Care
National Security
Education
Iraq
Climate Change
Veterans
Immigration
Human Dignity & Life
Technology
Second Amendment
Judicial Philosophy
Ethics Reform
Natural Heritage
Fighting Crime
Space Program

Go read all that and report back if you still have questions. Mind you I won't be able to answer, but maybe I can find a youtube or something to help.

I am serious. It's not about me being undecided. I simply asked if anyone could articulate anything, even in general terms, about why anyone should vote for McCain because I certainly don't hear it from him.

Lest you continue to consider me a hopeless partisan, I have been to McCain's website. I haven't actually heard most of those things from his mouth in quite some time. As to the bigger questions, can you tell me why people should vote for Republicans in general? Granted, you may vehemently disagree with where Democrats come from, but you guys certainly have a solid grip on what it actually is. What are Republicans all about right now?

In a nutshell, people here take solid shots at Obama, Democrats and liberals daily. I'm just interested that if someone tells me I suck, you should at least be able to tell me why you are better...and that's in general terms, to anyone who reads it.

I'm usually pretty good at playing the Devil's advocate, but I honestly can't think of a single good reason why anyone should vote for John McCain. Every time a possible reason pops into my mind, a good answer for it pops up just as fast. So I give up.

'They Both Suck' Campaign Sign Draws Stares

WJXT-TV
updated 11:19 a.m. ET, Fri., Oct. 24, 2008
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Campaign signs in support of presidential candidates Sen. John McCain and Sen. Barack Obama decorate lawns across the country, but a man who said he doesn't support either candidate has created quite a stir with a sign of his own.

"They Both Suck '08" reads the sign in Timothy Connors' front yard.

Connors, who lives in San Marco, told Channel 4 he supports politics but said he doesn't support either of the frontrunners in this year's election.

"I get a lot of response -- notes on the door or people honk if I'm outside or what not," Connor said.

He said he made the sign because he has an interest in politics. He said he just doesn't have an interest in this year's candidates.

"I feel a lot of people get caught up in the lesser of two evils. I think it would waste a vote if I don't 100 percent support a candidate," said Connor.

Connor said he isn't going to support either candidate. Instead, he said if he can't cast a ballot for who he wants, he'll wait until 2012 and not vote in this election.

"My theory is if I can't vote for who I want, it really doesn't count," Connor said.

He said the person he would like to see on the ballot is Ron Paul.

i will vote for mccain based on henry ford's immortal words:

you can't build a reputation on what you are going to do.

obama has built his reputation not on his record or his experience or his character, but what his is going to do.

So how does any politician get elected for the first time then?

Kinda sounds like the illogical argument I used to get from friends in high school when I would try to turn them on to a new band: "Who are they? How come I haven't heard of 'em? If they were any good they would have had a hit and I'd know who they are."

You're right. Never mind....

Henry Ford filed for Bankruptcy 7 times in his life.
After each one,I wonder how many investors he told what he was "going" to do to become successful?

He's against pre-emptive missile strikes in other countries. He will balance the budget, he will overhaul the unemployment system so for those who are out of work, their benefit rate will get increased, he will get rid of torture since he himself knows what it is like, he will get rid of the excess in Washington since he is as disgusted with it as all of us. He will keep jobs in this country by lowering the corporate tax. He recently said that Obama's policies will create a welfare state in this country. Expanding the welfare programs does not help because those on it do not contribute to the tax base putting us further in debt. For those who want to go to college, get a scholarship, work 2 jobs, save $$ and get in debt like everyone else.

Are you aware that people who receive welfare were able to get the tax stimulus checks that everyone else received? That's right, all they had to do was file a return with their welfare income it (which was not taxed at all since they live below the poverty line), and they got those two $600 rebates. Obama will expand on those programs.

Try harder. Hank Williams Jr. supports him, so there!

Well when he was singing a parodied version of Family Tradition with words related to the campaign, Sarah Palin didn't seem to really like it, but if Bocephus goes fishing or huntin' with Mr. Palin, maybe he can win her over.

taking caculated risks in private investing and failing has a limited affect on a small amount of people. publically investing in something, in this case the president of the USA, can affect not only this entire country, but the entire world.

I'll answer the Da_m question

1. he will not support any bill that will take your guns away.
2. through his own personel experience in the military he at least some clue to how the military works for himself and will not just rely on advisers.
3. i personely think his health care is a better deal
4. i think his ideas on global Warming (ha ha) are at least based on some reasonable ideas, not just gore following.
5. for me he is trust worthy i take him at his word i do not get the feeling in the pit of my stomach he is trying to sell me snake oil..
