Last night, we watched the Boz Scaggs "Greatest Hits Live" DVD.

Thanks to Fujirich and Jeanne for their recommendations in the "DVD recommendations" thread.

Anyway, while watching Boz perform his classic, it occurred to me that it would be a great tune for The ABB to cover.
After all, Duane provided the sizzling guitar work on the original, and I'm sure that Gregg, Derek, and Warren could "do it justice".

I know some don't appreciate The ABB doing covers but, for me, when they do their own take on a classic, it's better than doing a new song.

This would be great to hear live again. Maybe dusted off for the 40th year!

Glad you found the recommendation a good one. That performance of that tune is probably the highlight on the disc. It's one of those tunes that is so classic and can be covered in a number of ways. There's a lot of people I'd be happy see cover it.

How is the rest of the CD? I have read some positive reviews of the disc, mainly because of Duane's playing

I LOVE this tune! I've got it on vinyl (Anthology) and listen to it regularly. Check out Joe Pitts' cover of this one. It's a hidden track on the latest studio CD. Joe didn't want to list it on the track list and really struggled with whether to put it on the CD at all, out of respect for Duane. When I gave the CD to Bill Ector, I told him to let the CD play out after the last song for a surprise. He called me and when I answered, he said "Holy ______" You can hear it at http://www.myspace.com/joepittsband

Terry, where in Arkansas is Joe from? I am also from there, and I saw that they play a lot in Arkansas. I will have to tell my dad to go check them out sometime. I saw that they were playing the town of El Dorado where I was born! Cool!
