Got my ticket for the Saturday night. Been having a McGee marathon with Anchor Drops and Mantis at home with Death By Stereo in the car.

Still holding on to a slight hope that I might make Moe.

Bluesfest is back at the RAH! Daytime strollers too!

It looks like they have scrapped the evening double headers too.

Sunday 26 Oct - Level 42 (Blues?)

Tuesday 28 Oct - Van Morrison

Wednesday 29 Oct - Elvis Costello solo (Blues?) and Georgie Fame

Friday 31 Oct - Sheryl Crow (Blues?)

A bit of a downgrade from last year, I would say. I hope the Daytime programme is as good with fewer overlaps - it was the best deal of last year. As it's not on consecutive days this time, I'll be going to them all!

As I'm as much of a fan of Costello as I am of the ABB and The Who, I would have considered this normally. My next EC gig will be my 40th, but not at those prices. Usher Hall, Edinburgh £47 tops, Kew Gardens in July £52.50 tops. Blues fest top price £135!!!!!!! The Blues fest organisers are taking the pish. A tour top price for Costello at the RAH would be £65-£70 I reckon.

I can fly to Edinburgh, (£70 flight + £47) cheaper than train and top ticket for London (Total a minimum of £155) (and as Edinburgh is a Saturday gig, I could have the dubious pleasure of a Thistle match!)

I see that Van Morrison top price is £162 (£60/ 70 at Hampton Court).

I wasn't going to buy for TTB last year due to the prices but eventually bought a £35 seat in the nose-bleed section.

The RAH is a rotten place to watch rock music anyway, let's face it. I will only go as a last resort.

Last times I saw him in England was Wembley and the Rainbow Theater..with his old band!

Thanks! 29th and 30th.

Worth going just for JJ Grey & Mofro.

Edit - "Formed from weekly shows at Lesh’s Terrapin Crossroads in San Rafael, CA, the Terrapin Family Band has become the establishment’s official house band. The group - Brian Lesh, Grahame Lesh, Ross James, Scott Padden and Alex Kofrod - has also joined Phil at other venues, including Sullivan Hall and the Brooklyn Bowl in New York City." (Jambands.com)

An awful lot of Leshes there! Too bad that it's not a Phil & Friends show.

Just got 3 tickets for Blackberry Smoke on Oct 17th at Manchester Ritz. This venue is a big step up from the Academy 2 which they played in March. Hope they can fill it.

Mule at Brooklyn Bowl Tues 1st & Weds 2nd July. Looks like it's going to be a good venue attracting "our type" of bands. Pity it's such a pain to get to!

What Night are folks planning to go if they can only do one (like me) - I'll probably plump for Wednesday.

One of my favorite contemporary roots music bands right, the all-female Della Mae is coming your way...and they can all rip on their instruments...especially Courtney who is an exceptional guitarist;

I don't know how it has taken me so long but I finally saw the mighty King King last night.

Alan Nimmo has a fantastic voice and is a great guitarist but the whole of the band is more than its parts. The months of gigging around Europe have paid dividends.

Highly recommended if they are in your area. Touring with (and possibly blowing off the stage) John Mayall in the autumn.
