Let me think...................a champagne reception, meet & greet with Bill Nelson and a DVD of the gig with my name on it...........................or 86 visits to the Sam Hare Blues Jam at the Alleycat Club?

Some Black Country Communion dates on Presale to O2 customers - but at 40 a pop + bf, I'll be giving them a miss.

26 Jul 2011 7.00PM
Black Country Communion
O2 Academy Leeds

27 Jul 2011 7.00PM
Black Country Communion
O2 Academy Newcastle

29 Jul 2011 7.00PM
Black Country Communion
O2 Academy Glasgow

30 Jul 2011 7.00PM
Black Country Communion
Manchester Academy

Re ticket cost, is that just the Scotsman in me, or do I need to get real about ticket prices these days? Happily pay 18 to go see GlennHughes Band again, but I think 40 is too much, 25/30 would have merited serious consideration if they hit O2 Bristol. However some serious arm-twisting from mates who are big GH fans will ensue if they do play Brizzle.

40 is a bit steep ... but I would like to see them having missed out last year ...

Prices definitely on the up these days though ... so far this year UK gigs I have booked are: Trucks/Tedeschi @ 25, Frampton @ 30, Yes @ 40, James Taylor @ 60 and Roxy Music @ 80 ... so I guess 40 is not extortionate in the overall scheme of things ... but probably wouldn't go twice!

Al - good to see you and Moray too!

We had a blast for 2 and anyone who can and doesn't get themselves down to Tin Pan Alley on a Wednesday is missing out on a great night's music.

Is it just my imagination or is it much slicker than at the Charlotte Street Blues Bar? Less messing about between jams? Sam runs a tight ship - he calls the names, you get on stage and ready to play and, if you miss your turn, "Tough"!

I loved the 12/13 year-old Aaron Keylock singing BB King's I Had a Woman!

I felt a bit inadequate not being able to join in. Mind you - if the kazoo counts..........!

Barry - I loved Woody Sez and I think you would too. It's basically a run through Woody's life with a cast of four who are all good singers and musicians - double bass, geetars, fiddles, mandolin, dulcimer, autoharp, harmonica etc. American/ Canadian cast so no grating accents.

Don't go to a midweek matinee! There was fewer than 30 (probably closer to 20) in the Stalls and - HARVEY PLEASE NOTE - most of them were older than me!!! So there wasn't a lot of audience participation.

On a Saturday, they have a free hootenanny in the lobby after the performance so that may be the time to go. Runs until 2 April.

Come on now Gordon ... you don't expect us to believe that there are 20 to 30 people in London that are older than you ...

Glad you enjoyed the show ... might check it out myself when I go to see Frampton ...

Missed this before, Colin, as people seem to be breaking out new threads for tours like Gregg's and Matt's

The first three Roxy albums were fantastic, and still are.

As much as I like Bonamassa & have supported him since his first visit to these shores in 2005 I think charging 55 a pop for Hammersmith is a serious piss-take for someone who's been estabilshed for such a short time. Don't begrudge him his success but I'll stick with my memories of the good 'old' days of 9 for the Green Man in Barnet & 15 for the Borderline.

Totally agree, that's far too much for him. much as I enjoy his playing, watching him live makes me boak with all the posing and look how great I am attitude, so won't be going anyway! However, the poser fest between him and Glenn Hughes in BCC will be worth a laugh while listening to the great music and at 60 for High Voltage Saturday, that's far better value.
