Hello my dears

It has definitely been too long since we've met up for pre-/during- and afterbeers
Are there any good gigs coming up near London in the next 6-12 months?

Not to mention that Norwegian firewater that Del brings!!! (which I can never remember the name of).
We live in hope of a Derek & Susan tour, but outside of the ABB family, not sure what sort of stuff you would want to come over and see. Anyway, great to hear friom you, hope you are both well.

It's called Aquavit - Just don't get the danish aquavit - it's just essence - not the real thing. Get the norwegian akevitt - Dels been bringing "Gammel Opland" Aquavit to the gatherings:-) In norwegian it's called Akevitt.
Here's a link to a webpage with english text:
http://www.arcus.no/eng/Sweden/Products/d2Y-18UlNO38pBp7q5B8Nxh0xE2N13jIpwl LWWC.ips?template=products;cid=584;fid=587

I was thinking of something in the ABBfamily.
Harvey - It sounds good with maybe some Mule or Derek & Susan next year I was hoping that maybe the Honeytribe would come over around here - not Germany. But i guess Scandinavia or UK isn't on the list this time.
Hey with the new Album in January - maybe there's a chance Gregg wants to try playing in the UK?? We can only hope

I was there for Philip Sayce a couple of nights ago, interior has been tarted up a fair bit & they've now got a red curtain covering the back wall behind the stage. Debatable as to whether the lighting's any better.

HtoHE and I got in pre show to interview Matt which was fun. Great gig, love the new drummer.
Thought the band sounded heavier that I 've heard before. Nice.

Yeah, I was there. Chatted to your bro before the start.

I've just posted on facebook about how good I thought Kevin Hays was and how I wonder how Matt can advance his careeer. He's been playing the 100 Club, Borderline type venues for too long. And they are disappearing!

I think of how quickly Bonamassa went from Borderilne to SBE to RAH. Not that Matt is as much of a showman but he is on equal terms with Joe on technique. Maybe a regular line-up would help, a second guitarist or vocalist? I hope his next album isn't more of the same, although the New Orleans recording venue isn't hopeful. I'd rather see him playing Chicago Blues than N'orleans funk.

Did he say how the US tour went?

Just a quick note to let you know that last night I found out that the Charlotte Street Blues has closed down. It's a shame as it was a nice venue. It was losing money hand over foot I was told.

Didn't care for Ian Seigal when I sw him at the 100 Club.

Peter Frampton dates:

Leamington Spa 1 March
Glasgow ABC 2 March
Manchester Academy 3 March
London SBE 5 March
Bristol Academy 6 March

Does he still play with that ridiculous tube in his mouth?!!

Great gig as usual, yes, but I didn't think the new drummer was anything special, didn't add anything that wasn't already there put it that way. Evan Jenkins is Matt's best drummer I think.
Matt's guitar sound was heavier for sure, might even say it was lacking some of the tonal subtleties of before, sounds great on the recording though.

Whilst Matt is more than a match with Bonamassa playing wise, Joe has more of hard rock sound & thus more mass appeal. Difficult to see how Matt can broaden his appeal but I for one am more than happy to see him a few times a year in small venues, though I understand that doesn't help him much. A couple of high profille support slots wouldn't harm him but I've had this discussion with him once before & he seems happy to keep it at a certain level just ticking over nicely.
Also more than happy for him to settle into a funky N'awlins groove on the new album should he choose to do so. He's been playing the same set for a good while now, look forward to it being freshened up with some new stuff.
