Hey Al, Thanks for the link to your shots, some crackers there! - thought that Two Fingers of Firewater looked interesting, so checked out their myspace and saw that there was a Bristol gig in October. Typically, that particular Saturday is already booked! Need to catch them next time.

Ok what happened to the UK peach-corp last night? At least Colin apologised for choosing Reading v Chelsea instead of the Rattlers' gig beforehand. Anyway y'all (apart from Keith (geordielad) and me) missed a good wee gig by the Snake Oil Rattlers. Good pub as well by the way if you are ever in the Farringdon area of London. Decor not the best, but good beer and a nice gantry of malts.

Thanks for coming down Jim (and Keith) too. I hope you enjoyed yourself. I heard a few screams from the front but was thinking they sounded a bit girlie for you. Thanks also for taking a taking a few pictures too. It's always nice to have record of the event. One day we'll have a proper publicity photo.

The Snakeoil Rattlers next gig is at the Gallery Cafe in Bethnal Green on Friday 14th August. We'll probably go back to the straight acoustic sound on that one. Not because I don't think the dirty guitar sound worked (please tell me it did - I recall someone saying it made the songs sound more Southern) but I don't want to scare them.

Sound worked for me, Barry. But not having heard the straight acoustic sound, i have nothing to compare it to. Now about that accent you sing in.......... London via Texas!?

Next years Stars in Their Eyes, Barry will be............

Steve Earle! (he wishes!!)

Anyone else going to Pearl jam at the O2 next Tuesday (18th)? Keith (geordielad) is going with his partner as well. I'll be in the Slug&Lettuce beforehand. Hope to get there about 6-6:30, traffic and tube permitting. According to email from O2, Gomez are supporting 7.30 - 8.05 (too short IMO) and PJ will be on from 8.45 - 11.00pm.

We'll be aiming to get to the Slug And Lettuce about that time Jim. U2 today. Andrea is bouncing off the ceiling at the thought of seeing both her favourite bands in the space of 4 days. I'd like to see Roky Erickson at the Forum on Thursday also but don't think my wallet/liver can take the strain.

Morning all! Quick pimp - got a couple of gigs this weekend if anyone's interested :-)

Saturday, we're headlining the Bentworth Blues Weekend, which is down the A3 near Alton (GU34 5RB) (link) - we're on 9.30 until 11 but there's a bunch of bands all through the weekend. It should be cool... good beer too!

Then on Sunday we're at The Red Lion on the High Street, Stevenage old town (SG1 3DW) - a very funky sweaty vibe to this gig. Fun!

Some youtube clips if you want to see what sort of music we play...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uSKDLvAJspg&fmt=18 - for the abb link... ;-)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sWoQWsOwUQU&fmt=18 - something a bit heavier...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CAjr7bCTQpE&fmt=18 - not quite so heavy...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zqLLVu46tgw&fmt=18 - and some blues...

Seeya! Jules

I'm not sure what I've got planned for the day on Sat, but I might very well pop down to this. Like you say it's free.

Hey Al - thanks for the pimping ;-) And hippy69 it's a fun way to spend an evening... there's usually quite a few people there each year... fingers crossed the weather will hold up... Come and say hello if you make it!

After us it's the Robin Bibi band... he plays some really very nice guitar too - good singer as well. Sort of SRV flavoured blues... worth coming along to watch!

Cya! - Jules

Just in case you missed the thread elsewhere, Stephen Stills is releasing a double CD of his Shepherds Bush Empire show on 27 October (Rhino B002KVSJFK).

According to Amazon, it's only available on import so it's a pricey £24.99.

Wait for it to be released and then buy via their marketplace traders - usually a lot cheaper for imports. Caiman have always provided great service if you can buy from them.
